Review: Pretty good! - This is a good gin-flavored syrup for making a non-alcoholic gin and tonic with lime. Of course there’s no alcohol bite, but the tonic and lime are tart enough, and the syrup adds the resinous pine and juniper note.

I was excited when it arrived. However, I was quickly disappointed after I mixed it in a gin and tonic. This product taste like minty dish soap. Since I haven’t had a drink of alcohol in over 30 years I can’t tell you if it really taste like gin. I would imagine most gins don’t taste like minty dish soap. It didn’t mix well any cocktail I tried it in. I was really disappointed in this product and I’m not sure that it is a good replacement for gin.

**Q: says no sugar. is there an artificial sweetner used?**

DHOS is sweetened with monkfruit extract which is a natural low-calorie sugar substitute. As a result of using Monfruit, DHOS Gin contains zero sugar. **Q: Does this need to be refrigerated after opening?**
A: It needs to be thrown out immediately after opening. It is the most god-awful stuff I've ever tasted! Seriously! When I got it, my wife and I taste tested it. She ran to the kitchen  sink to spit it out. I politely held my nose and swallowed it. Then, even knowing better, I tried mixing it with tonic (4-1!) hoping against hope it would be so bad. My wife wouldn't even try it. She's always been smarter than me. This time I spit it in the sink and poured the rest down the drain. My advice is don't buy it.

This stuff is probably about as good as it gets without being GIN. what everyone fails to understand is there is NO Alcohol, therefore it will NOT taste the SAME. It is similar only. The only real way to enjoy it is in a cocktail (Mocktail). It is like Caffeine-free Coke/Pepsi, it will not taste the same, like something is missing. If anyone has ever tried Juniper berries, then you will understand, that they do NOT taste great. And only through distillation does the great change happen to create the flavors of Gin. This does not claim to be GIN, but a GIN ALTERNATIVE. I have seen other reviews from people saying things about electronics and giving 0, 1, or 2 stars because it failed in the rain (without any claim the product is waterproof). This is much the same, not GIN, not GIN, not GIN... Get it!
