Problem with both DVI ports - do not use this docking station with a Dell Latitude E7240 - it doesn't work
Update on the earlier review - the two DVI-D to DP cables came but they didn't fix the problem. Bottom line, this PRO2X Plus replicator is a dud.---------------Update on my earlier review.I have learned - after much trial and effort and expense - that one of the DVI-D ports on this replicator port/docking station does not work.I purchased two of these replicators/docking stations (one for me and one for my husband - we both are using them with Dell E74xx laptops). His docking station is working so it's mine that is the problem. My setup has two external monitors plus the Latitude monitor so three screens. One of the external monitors went in and out from the beginning. When I realized the problem, I started trying to fix it. I switched first to a VGA cable on one of them and that worked, but I wanted the DVI-D resolution. So a month after buying this replicator I purchased on Amazon (1) a 180 watt power bar. Didn't help. Since then I have purchased on Amazon (2) two new DVI-D cables to see if the cables were the problem. No dice. When I switched the two new DVI-D cables in terms of which port they were plugged into on the back of the docking station/port replication, it was immediately clear (finally) that one of the two DVI-D ports (the one closest to the middle) is not working. It's the same port each time I switch the cables. So at least I now know what the problem is.(3) Coming on Monday from Amazon will be two DVI-D to Display Port cables. Since the port replicator has two DP ports below the two DVI-D ports, perhaps they both work (or one works) and I can connect my one or both Dell DVI-D monitors to the DP ports on the port replicator instead.Bottom line, though, is I have a defective Dell e/Port Plus Port Replicator and I cannot return it. The return policy is ONE MONTH. So I'm stuck with this defective piece of equipment. Ugghh. My computer setup at home consists of a Dell E7420 laptop and two Dell monitors. They were all running on a Dell ePort Plus docking station with the two external monitors hooked up to the two DVI ports on the back of the docking station. The docking station was from 2011 and the monitors began flickering in and out, on and off, going into sleep mode. I did all the things recommended online such as updating the bios and the video card software, but it didn't help.So what I did was purchase a newer Dell e-port Plus II, with a 130 watt cord on Amazon from this vendor. The box came and it looks exactly like the Dell OEM product. The docking station is from 2013 according to the bottom of the port. For a while, all was good. I was able to run both Dell external monitors and the laptop monitor at the same time. However, one of the external monitors this week started going to sleep again and the text said that the monitor was not connected to the laptop. See photo below. I tried changing DVI cables (thinking maybe a cable was the problem) and switching between the ports and learned that one of the ports on the back of the docking station was not functioning. I was able to hook up the second monitor using a VGA cable, but of course the quality is not as clear as with the DVI cable. If I toggle the monitor between the DVI cable and the VGA cable, the monitor works on the VGA but does not on the DVI.So there's a problem with the docking station - I think. Welcome any suggestions before I send it back and get another one. Thanks!UPDATE: Well, things are progressing from bad to worse. The second Dell 2340 monitor no longer works - it says "there is no signal coming from your computer" regardless of which of the two DVI ports that I put it in. I suppose I could move to a second VGA cable, but am really disappointed in this docking station. I have done some more reading online and there are multiple complaints about the combination of a Dell docking station and the Dell Latitude E7240 laptop. All kinds of individuals have had problems with setting up dual monitors through a docking station - and none of the proposed solutions (e.g. updating the bios or video card) fixes the problem. Wish I had known this before buying the laptop!

Hmmm.....
Bought a used item in "like new" condition, but it was anything but. The item had a thick layer of dust on it and there was some sort of gunk between the connectors. Can't judge a book by it's cover right? I decided to give it a chance and test it out. On initial hookup it worked well right out the box. Shut my system down for the night and went to work the next morning. Nothing. The docking station is supposed to charge the laptop for use and provide power when plugged in. My laptop was dead and the docking station was dead. Returned the item that same day. Sometimes things are exactly as they appear.

It began to fail three months after receipt
Too bad Windows 10 is making this interface obsolete. Have not tried with other operating systems. It began to fail 3 months after received. Continuing to try and nurse it along with my old laptop.

Just what is needed for a dual computer setup
I keep my laptop on my desk in front of my monitor, and have a workstation located adjacent to the desk. By use of a Connectpro USB switch I am able to switch my monitor, keyboard, and mouse with the push of a button. The dock lets all of the connections be "permanent" so no wear and tear on cables, and the system gets charged while I use it. The number of ports is decent and the attachment/detachment is simple and effective.I now have two of these in the house (one for the wife) and we are both pleased with their performance.

Removes Limits on Available Dell Laptop Ports
I'm using it mainly for triple display capability, but it's nice to be able to charge my laptop while being connected to more devices than my laptop has ports for (mouse/keyboard, phone charger, external drive, etc.) This docking station is for slightly older Dells (mine is almost 3 yrs old); newer Dells may need the "brick" style docking station. Had it for only a week, but will update if the product fails.

Good pricing and good quality is seen in this product
I have a Dell laptop and this unit allows me to inter-connect all of my systems in an effective networked fashion. This is the second unit of this type that I have bought from Amazon. My first unit of this type was more than 5 years old and wore out, so I bought another unit of the same type from Amazon. Good pricing and good quality is seen in this product.

Bulky but functional
It does what its supposed to do! Supports Dual display and docks well with the Dell E6520.USB ports do not work as standalone chargers unless the laptop is docked and turned on.Make sure to have enough space on the desk for the monitor plus an additional 6" for the dock and cables.

Not new, and dirty.
Not a new product, scuffed up and the power supply is filthy. If its used or refurb tell people.
