Huxley Secret of Sahara Body Oil Moroccan Gardener 3.38 fl. oz | Korean Ultra Hydrating Body Oil | Deep Hydration with Vitamins A, B2, E and K (New Package)

This was my 2nd bottle and I really love it! It’s great to put on right after shower. I usually put on right after the shower and before I dry off. This way the water can get trapped with the body oil and you can really feel the hydration working. The fragrance is wood tone which I prefer more than floral scents.

This is a beautiful oil, the texture is great. I use it under a moisturizer and feel as though it absorbs into my skin quickly. It isn’t too oily. It does have a very strong floral scent, so if that isn’t your jam, this oil may not be for you. The scent does not last all day, but it is strong initially. I think it is really reasonably priced for the quality of oil

As we start approaching the colder weather in the NE, I decided to up the ante on my moisturizing game and invest in this. I do have to say it is a splurge for me BUT now and then it’s okay to TREATYOSELF! This oil is exceptional when it comes to moisturizing and hydrating the skin once your out the shower. I like to use a Korean Italy towel to cleanse with my soap (they ofc sell them here on Amazon) and scrub my skin to prep it. I’ve found this method to be the most effective for me to ensure I have a clean canvas to receive this golden glorious oil. Once out the shower I make sure to pat some areas dry and leave a little amount of water for it to bind & glide effortlessly on my body. The only place I don’t use it is on my face because it does have a very fragrant scent to it. My only complaint would be the way it dispenses is annoying. It has a plastic stopper with a small hole (think the essential oil dispensers) that only allow a couple of drops at a time. I like to slather this on quickly and it just is a pain in the cheek to get the amount I want in my hands. I popped off the stopper and just pour it ( which is messy af) and I’m gonna end up putting this in another vessel that has either a pump or spray to get the oil exactly where I need it without wasting it. My favorite time to use this is before bed so by the next morning my body is super smooth. So far, I see myself getting another bottle but probably ask for it as a gift cuz this ishhh is luxxxxx ❤️

So small. My mistake buying it without realizing how small it is. If you need body oil daily, it may last 5 to 7 days. Fragrance nothing special. Just DNB.

This is a great body oil in quality! I will say the scent is a bit too gardenia for me? But it’s a great spring scent if you like florals. I’m more of an earthy/vanilla/amber/santal kinda girl.

The Huxley Secret of Sahara Body oil comes in a 3.38oz GLASS cylindrical bottle with a tiny pour spout in the top. As of this writing, it was $30. The main ingredients are sweet almond, sunflower seed, meadowfoam seed, rosehip oils, and cactus extract. This oil is also fragranced. Thankfully, it is a faint, pleasant scent. They call it "Moroccan Gardener." Weird name aside, it is not overpowering or floral like some of their other products. The oil is pale yellow and absorbs into the skin surprisingly well. It doesn't leave a greasy film, assuming you don't overdo it. Normally, I wouldn't pooh-pooh simple glass packaging, but it is an untextured (e.g., smooth) bottle. I can easily see dropping it. I nearly did a couple of times. Obviously, you are going to have oil on your hands when using it. I would suggest Huxley do something to ensure a safer handhold. Otherwise, use with caution. They suggest applying this lovely, fragrant oil to the skin while it is still damp. I'd take it a step further and use it after you've applied a little lotion first. Oils, while good, are occlusive and trap moisture into the skin. They don't create hydration on their own. Using a moisturizer first (while skin is still slightly damp) and then massaging in your Huxley body oil will further enhance the conditioning and hydrating effect you desire. You will still glean the nourishing benefits of the oil even if it is applied overtop a moisturizer. The same rules apply with facial oils. I was annoyed with trying to read the information on the box. It is as yellow as the oil itself with white writing. Not sure who at Huxley thought that was a bright idea, white on pale yellow. Near impossible to read. They included a paper insert in the box, but it had very little information. To read the ingredients, I had to take a picture with my phone using a filter (please see image for box info). Users shouldn't have to go through hoops just to read the instructions and ingredients. Rethink the colorway, Huxley. The first ingredient is Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis. On the sale's post, they tell us it is sweet almond oil. Not so, on the box. Instead, I had to look everything up. I wish more companies gave layman translations alongside some of the chemical names on the ingredient list, on the box itself, not just online. It would make it so much easier for the customer. Then again, so would making the information readable instead of pairing two-light, near non-contrasting colorways on the packaging. I recommend patch testing first if you are new to oil blends or Huxley. Anyway. Is the Huxley Secret of Sahara Body Oil worth it? Meh, I lean on yes simply because I have enjoyed incorporating more oils into my skincare in recent years. I have mature (now over 40), sensitive, combination-to-dry, congestion-prone, acne-prone skin. I used to be more oily. As we age, though, collagen and sebum production naturally lessens. Sebum, aka oil or lipids, is what conditions and protects the skin from external elements. I want to thank consistent SPF use and my youth's super-oily skin for my now unwrinkled forehead and lack of crow's feet. Now, I'm shifting further away from my gel-washes and acne-treatment-focused skincare and more so on hydration and antioxidants to keep said wrinkles and dryness at bay. Adding oils, including using them for double-cleansing, has made a considerable improvement to my overall complexion. Find skin-suitable oils for your needs. For example, I can't use coconut oils, but I can use safflower and sunflower oils. I can use the ones in the Huxley body oil blend, even with sensitive, acne-prone skin. No breakouts, rashes, or anything I'd consider an adverse reaction. It performed as expected. However, you can also get something equally as lovely in formula and unfragranced, in a sizable pump bottle, for less too. For now, I'm going to continue to use this one until it slips from my hand and breaks or I use it up. Then, I'll consider if I want to repurchase or try something else.
