The teapot is very small in size because it has a capacity of only 700 ml. But its a dainty little thing that is very beautiful. It is very light weight and yet feels sturdy. It is ideal for making tea for two people.

It’s a very cute looking pot. It’s more lightweight than I was expecting. It looked too small for the capacity listed, but I measured and it does hold exactly 700 ml. Good build quality of both the pot and the mesh insert. The glass is light, unlike thick borosilicate, so initially one might feel it’s too delicate for everyday use. But since this brand is well known for high-quality glass, I hope it holds up long term. Pouring spout is great, no dribbling along the side even when the pot is completely full. Very easy to use and clean.

I edited my previous review, which was kind of critical of the product, after continous use of the product. It is a good kettle, serves our purpose very well. However, wish the product was priced more reasonably. Incidentally, the strainer is perfectly made but it stamped as made in China. 😟

I’m a gong fu style type of tea drinker. But I wanted something larger than my clay pots that I could just keep at my desk while I work because getting up to brew gong fu style is annoying when I’m in the zone. I also like drinking low end teas like hojicha or earl grey sometimes, and I love trying out new types of tea (which I can’t do with clay). I thought of porcelain but while they’re a classic I find them boring. I decided to try this pot and I’m glad I did. The glass is beautiful and I love the simple design—it’s looks much better in person than the photos. It’s lightweight but not in a way that feels cheap. The strainer is wide so the leaves have breathing room. I love the visual aspect of seeing the colour of the tea which is kind of relaxing. It pours like a dream—no spills. The handle doesn’t get hot at all. The body does get hot but not scalding. I put 95°c water in there and I could touch it for a few seconds without pain-so no issue if you accidentally touch it. And it’s a great neutral material for trying out different teas since it doesn’t affect the taste of the leaves (unlike clay). If you’re a tea connoisseur you probably won’t be looking at glass teapots, and on Amazon. Don't expect to brew pu’erhs in this. And I have a dedicated tokoname clay pot for my Gyokuro. But you can definitely brew other high quality teas like Darjeeling or silver needle or high mountain wulongs. And literally any lower end teas or flowering teas or herbal teas will work in this pot and give you a really nice aesthetic experience.

I usually don't leave reviews for products. Almost never. Actually this might be my first. This should tell you something - to ignore my spelling mistakes and other signs of general illiteracy. But this teapot is fantastic. Some demographic info: I'm a 21 year old man, freshly adult, and recently turned tea snob. So naturally I need a teapot to accompany, nay supplement my loose leaf, nose upturned, calling-tea-color-liqueur lifestyle. Previously I had been brewing my tea in a thermos with a little mesh insert, a practice that if employed by anyone else I would surely mock brazenly. First impressions - I had read almost all of the reviews and some of them had mentioned that this teapot is rather small. When I opened it, I thought to myself "this teapot is rather small". But once I stilled my beating heart and actually made some tea I realized that it's pretty much the perfect size. Filling it close to the top, with a comfortable margin, I get enough tea for two very full mugs, and in my frugally heated apartment the pot keeps the tea piping hot for the second mugful. The basket is nice and large. I've heard others say that this is necessary for the leaves to swim, luxuriate, mingle, copulate, bask in their collective consciousness. Shoot me if I ever anthropomorphise tea leaves like that. But it is nice to have a big basket so that the water actual reaches the center leaves. To that end, it would've been nice if they included a diving board so that the leaves could indulge their inner child (or bud, if you will), but now I'm splitting hairs. It's made of glass, so it's breakable. I haven't broken mine yet, but I reserve the right to in the future, hopefully during the height of an argument. I think it'll shatter very well, but that's just speculation at this point. Only complaint (very minor) is that the handle is kind of hard to grip when the pot is full of hot tea. My hand has a tendency to slip down and touch the hot pot. But I just changed the way I held it, and that's been working well. I'm actually glad, I was getting a little set in my ways. Bottom line - buy it. It's not a samovar, but for one or two people (I can dream, can't I?) it's perfect. Very aesthetically pleasing, functional, the mesh is plenty fine, even rooibos can't sneak through, and I've had almost no stems get stuck. It's top rated for a reason.

Ich bin Japan-Fan. Schon deshalb weil die Japaner in den 50er Jahren begonnen haben, Qualität neu zu definieren. Japanische Produkte zeichnen sich für mich durch höchste Qualität zu einem fairen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis aus. Nicht umsonst stieg Japan zeitweise zur zweitgrößten Wirtschaftsmacht der Welt auf, fast wie der berühmte Phönix aus der Asche. Dies aber nur am Rande . Seit 1993 bin ich Teetrinker. Hatte vorher exzessiv Kaffee getrunken, sogar abends. Mein Kaffeekonsum fiel einem Freund auf der mir riet: „Trink die Mengen doch mal als Tee!“ Mein Interesse war geweckt. Kannte Tee eigentlich nur als Gesundheitsgetränk (Kamille, Hagebutte, Pfefferminze …) , aber was ist Tee eigentlich? Angefangen habe ich mit einem Früchtetee: Tee mit getrockneten Bananenstückchen. Naja, wollte schon wieder zurück zum Kaffee … Aromatisierter Schwarztee … schön und gut … ist das Tee? Dann habe ich mich an einen Darjeeling aus dem Supermarkt getraut: Anfangs konnte ich mich so richtig nicht mit dem Geschmack anfreunden, aber als ich ca. 10 Liter durchgeballert hatte wurden auch meine Geschmacksnerven wach: Dieser blumige Geschmack … jetzt war es passiert. Nach den puren Schwarztees kamen die Grüntees … Stopp! Genug abgeschweift! Ich bin Teetrinker und Japan-Fan. Und ich benutze mittlerweile zur Zubereitung meiner Tees Glasteekannen der japanischen Firma Hario. Hario bedeutet übersetzt „King Of Glass“, das Unternehmen wurde 1921 gegründet und hat sich mittlerweile auf die Herstellung von Zubereitungshilfen im Bereich Kaffee und Tee spezialisiert. Im Bereich Kaffeezubereitung ist Hario weltweit eine feste Größe: Keiner hat die Zubereitung von Kaffee mit dem Papierfilter so perfektioniert wie Hario. Aber auch bei der Zubereitung von Tee lässt sich Hario nichts vormachen: Die Kannen und Zubereitungsmethoden sind extremst durchdacht. Nur zur Info: [...]. Aufmerksam wurde ich auf die Kannen durch Rezessionen der Hario-Kanne auf Amazon.com. Die Kanne bekommt durchweg beste Bewertungen, da musste ich mir die Kanne doch mal in den Warenkorb klicken. Es geht um die Kanne mit 700 ml Fassungsvermögen mit der Bezeichnung CHJMN-70T. Gekauft habe ich mir die Kanne am 01. April 2015. Die Kanne wurde direkt aus Japan importiert, nach ca. 3 Wochen war sie da. Sehr schön verpackt wie man es von japanischen Produkten kennt, keine Transportschäden. Der Clou an der Kanne ist das Edelstahlsieb. Damit haben die Teeblätter keine andere Wahl als perfekt aufzuschwimmen. Nur – wie bekomme ich das Sieb aus der Kanne? Kein Griff wie bei der Mono Filio ... Konstruktionsfehler? Nein … die Japaner sind in dieser Hinsicht clever und uns immer diesen berühmten kleinen Schritt voraus: Die Ausgiesstülle der Kanne ist groß dimensioniert. Nicht nur damit man sauber ausgießen kann. Man greift in die Tülle mit dem Zeigefinger und hebt das Sieb mit Zeigefinger und Daumen heraus. Es funktioniert! Man verbrennt sich nicht die Finger – genial! Und trotz der überdimensionierten Ausgiesstülle sieht die Teekanne auch noch sehr gut aus. Sie gießt sauber aus, durch den Unterdruck stockt das Ausgießen manchmal (mein Tipp: Immer langsam ausgießen, ein so edles Getränk wie Tee will langsam ausgegossen werden), die Kanne ist absolut tropffrei! Das Edelstahlsieb ist so feinmaschig … Roibuschtees und auch Kräutertees können darin problemlos zubereitet werden. Was durchgeht schwebt sofort auf den Kannenboden. Geschmacksneutralität ist auch gegeben, da das Sieb eben aus Edelstahl ist. Eine durchdachte Kiste! Nach der Entnahme aus der Kanne kippe ich das Sieb auf ein Papiertuch – man kann sich so schön die Teeblätter ansehen oder ich belasse die Blätter einfach im Sieb – für einen mehrfachen Aufguss. Auch die Reinigung des Siebs ist denkbar einfach: Das Sieb umgekehrt unter den Wasserstrahl halten damit die gröbsten Teeblätterreste ausgespült werden. Danach mit einem Handtuch die Teeblattreste rausholen. Das Sieb ist rückstandslos sauber. Und hier ein klitzekleiner Kritikpunkt: Wenn man die Teeblattreste unter dem Wasserstrahl ausspült, können Partikel unter den Rand des Siebs gespült werden. Doch keine Angst: Irgendwann fallen diese getrocknet ins Sieb und man kann diese ausklopfen. Mein Fazit: Die Kanne ist genial – und preiswert dazu! 700 ml sind als Fassungsvermögen absolut ok. Man trinkt sich nicht müde und satt und kann schnell die Teesorte wechseln. Mittlerweile habe ich die Kanne in der Größe 300 ml und auch 450 ml für mehrfache Aufgüsse in Sachen Grüntee. Des Weiteren hat die Kanne diesen japanischen raffinierten Tick – einfach aber genial konstruiert zu sein. Danke Hario – und absolute Kaufempfehlung!
