VTech Upgraded Baby Monitor with Rechargeable Battery, Long Range, Crystal-Clear Sound, and Alerts

I love this little monitor! It works really well, picks up on the smallest noises and is so portable making it great for traveling or simply bringing it to someone else’s house. We see my parents multiple times in the summer and this is the best thing to bring. Range is also really good. The whole monitor is cute, lullaby music plays really well, I love that there’s a timer so it doesn’t run all night or have to turn it off ourselves. Its nightlight feature is relatively dim which is good and bad at the same time because while it’s great to have a little light it’s really not much unless the room is super dark. The only downside I would give it would be that the receiver runs out of battery quicker than I would’ve hoped but it’s not that big of a deal to plug the cord In. I highly recommend this cute guy to anyone looking for a sound only monitor with different features.

We have used these for over two years and are currently using them for our second! We love these. I didn’t want a video monitor because knowing myself, I would just watch it constantly. This is perfect for what we need. We take it into the yard and it works perfectly while baby is inside. We’ve had no problems with it the last two years and I would definitely buy again. Great value for product.

I've been really happy with this set of one base station and two parent units. You get three AC adapters, one for the base (which cannot use batteries) and one for each parent unit. The sound is very clear, and there's no static thanks to it using a 6.0ghz DECT digital signal. The units will alert you if they lose connection with the base station so that you know you can't hear your baby. Very simple no-frills operation. That being said there are a couple of downsides:1. The form factor is awful. The parent units being shaped like an egg, tip over very easily especially if they have the cord plugged into them.2. The parent units each use two AAA batteries. When reading other reviews, I saw others complaining that they drain batteries very fast when unplugged. This is an under statement. It seems like 2-3 hours off the charger and the low battery light starts flashing and the unit beeps. I'm using 800mah Ni-MH rechargable batteries that I bought for these units. If I were using disposable batteries, I would be really upset with how fast they were being drained. But being prepared for this and having rechargeable its not a huge problem (just having to swap daily).The high frequency digital signal is nice because it would be extremely difficult if not impossible for someone to eavesdrop on the units with any type of consumer equipment, unlike the old analog monitors where you could tap in easily with a scanner.All in all a good unit, if you can overlook the terrible battery life and crappy form factor. I might try to order extra ac adapters for the spots that I move to around the house so I can rely on batteries less.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This baby monitor is just what I needed for my grandkids’ rooms. I really like that it’s not Wi-Fi — just old-school audio, and it works perfectly. The sound is clear, and it’s super easy to use. It gives me peace of mind without the hassle of apps or internet connections. Great little monitor!

We have one of these on every floor of the house so we don’t have to shout. They seem to peter out every 3-4 years. Every time we replace them they are better quality every time. We’ve bought about 5 “versions” of this product. Highly recommend.

I was worried I would regret buying such a basic baby monitor. I am so glad I didn't waste my money on an expensive video monitor I didn't need. My baby is 7 months old now and we have used this monitor since she was born. This receivers are indestructible. I have dropped them off every surface in our house including down our wood stairs. They still look brand new and don't have a single scratch. The battery life is insanely long. I love having 2 receivers so my husband and I can both hear baby when we are in different rooms. They have clips on the back like walkie talkies so I can clip them to my clothes when I am walking around the house doing chores. The audio quality is great and I hear every noise baby makes! You won't regret this purchase!! Best value for your money hands down!

We have two of the single parent units and I wish we had found these originally. Haven’t tested the battery life, but the single units drain quickly. Currently none of our units have batteries as we just leave them plugged in. This makes things so easy though if you spend a lot of time in another room of your home you can keep one unit in your bedroom and the other unit in the frequently visited area of your home and easily hear the baby. My home is a ranch-style 2000+ sqft house and we have a monitor in our bedroom and another in the playroom that is just off the living room and kitchen. I have the volume set to the highest in the playroom so I can hear the baby over the sounds of washing dishes. In our bedroom I have it set to the lowest volume because our one month old is very loud and can easily be heard at that level. With our first two babies, they cried so quietly that we had the volume up higher and it was a few weeks before their little voices were this strong. With this unit, you don’t have to constantly unplug your primary bedroom unit and you can use the second one. If you choose not to use the second unit, it does not seem to affect anything to power it off. When we have guests in our playroom, I just unplug that second unit and have no issues.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of good options out there for 2-parent long-range audio-only baby monitors, and the amount of good reviews for this one gave us high hopes it would do well. We were disappointed though.The first issues is that child end of the monitor doesn't seem to have a way to adjust sensitivity. Our baby is generally pretty quiet, so we needed something sensitive enough to pick up sounds more subtle than screams. We play peaceful music quietly in her room while she sleeps, and can only barely hear that if we press the parent monitor to our ear. We noticed that when I was clunking around in the room, it wasn't picking up the sounds I was making unless I did something pretty loudly. Even when I spoke at a normal level, it wasn't picking up the sound. When we had her nap in there with it, it was fortunate I went to check on her, as the monitor hadn't picked up the sound of her waking.The other main issue is that the audio level on the parent units is just not sufficient. If it actually picks up the sounds, it will broadcast them too quietly, even with the volume cranked. The only way you would be able to hear it would be if everything were quiet and it was within a few feet of you. That is not functional for families who have other children, watching TV or listening to music, or even something like washing dishes or taking a shower. It really is a limiting factor as to what you can do, as the fact that it doesn't pick up the sounds or transmit them at an audible level means you might as well just be in the room with the baby, listening with your own ears.We didn't get around to testing the range, battery life, etc. before returning the monitor set.

Worked for 3 days and stopped working !! I dont understand why its not workingI have tried to contact the service email also tried to contact the company .. no response … I have used it for 2 nights in a row.. Not user friendly also the sound was very low .. I kept it charging for 3 nights still didn’t work .. I dont recommend it its waste of money ..

This is one of the worst products ever. I tried connecting it only today as I was not at home and as soon as I plugged it in, there was a short burst and smoke started coming out of the adapter. And since I am a day late, I'm unable to return it.

Excelente equipo monitor, como padres queremos cuidar de más a nuestros hijos, antes de este equipo compré uno con cámara el cual dejaba mucho que desear, se veia horrible no era para nada nítida la imagen y se escuchaba peor y sin precio de promoción de 900 pesos.Con estos monitores únicamente escuchas los ruidos de tu bebé pero es más que suficiente, se escucha muy claro y fuerte, realmente me impresionó la claridad con la que se escucha. Además de que no introduce ningún tipo de ruido, me parecieron tan cómodos que compré dos juegos.No duden en comprarlos.

It didn’t work coz of the power issue

We purchased this item in late March. Within 2 months the batteries on both handheld units are garbage and they have to be plugged in at all times.
