How is the longevity of the FX6 compared to other filters people have owned? (primarily Eheim). I will be using it in a turtle tank if that matters...

I've been using the Fluval FX5 on my 100 gallon red eared slider turtle tank for about 12 years now. It's worked flawlessly over the years. I'm about to replace it with the FX6 due to various things starting to get worn out. So yes it does have pretty good longevity.

Question 2

I have a 40 gallon tank for two read eared sliders. Would this filter be too strong or just right for my tank? Also, does it come with the hosing?

I've got it on a 55 gallon and it works fine! With turtles you want at least 3 times the filtration so 40 gallons of water needs a 160 gallon rated filter or stronger. Also it is recommended that you house your turtles separately as they are going to grow to be 8-12 inches long and are solitary in the wild! I recommend you join red ear slider turtle owners resto group on Facebook and they will have all the information on best diet best filters and best tanks for your turtles!

I am sitting up a 75 gallons tank in my office i don't want to clean it a lot what fluval pump would you suggest

Frequent water changes aren’t a necessity if you set your tank up accordingly. Look up low maintenance/ self sustaining and see for yourself. I have a 75, 50, 29, and two turtle tanks, turtles being the the only ones I regularly change water. No deaths, plants are healthy(NO SUPPLEMENTS OR CO2 added), water is clear, and I’m using HOB filters with only ceramic balls. There’s guides for what you want online that will help far more than these comments.

Fluval fx4 or fluval 406? 80 gallon planted tank. what do you think?

If you have a heavy stock of fish I would aim for 7-10x total gallons of filtration. 
Currently running 2 fx6 on my 260 gallon which is about 7x flow rate and I’m debating adding a third to get closer to that 10x mark.

These provide great bio filtration and if you set them up right with some tweaking can agitate the surface of the water which increases oxygen in the water and allows more life to exist in your aquarium.
