I use to order the much larger 58 ounces canister, I believe it was, but I can’t find it any longer. This is the best creamer for my morning cup of Joe I have ever tasted, although I’m sure I haven’t tasted them all, after tasting this, I stopped tasting any others. This is very creamy and absolutely delicious! It dissolves instantly. I don’t know the shelf life because I use it so quickly! I use the less expensive powdered milk in baking and cooking, when calling for milk, because I save this for myself! I even (selfishly) hide it away, because it is more expensive, but because I love it so much, and has so much protein , I share with the little ones, who need their proteins, but the older, working children can buy their own! It is very good in hot chocolate! Manufacturer: Please consider providing a larger canister! It’s creamy good!! Protein content is 26 grams of protein per 3.53 ounces. Impressive and yummy!

Mum had five of us, so we drank a lot of non-fat instant dry milk growing up. Sometimes she'd mix it 50-50 with whole milk, which was a big treat for us. I don't mind non-fat dry milk, but I prefer whole milk. Until now. I did a taste test with WalMart non-fat dry milk, whole milk, and Nido. The non-fat dry milk? Hello my old friend - you are exactly as I remembered you. Whole milk? Yeah buddy, that's the stuff! The Nido? Wow! I find it richer and creamier than whole milk with a wonderful flavor and mouth feel. It is my new favorite. My wife grew up on a dairy farm, so she has very exacting standards for milk. "Yeah, you can tell that it's powdered milk, and it'd take some getting used to, but it's not bad." said she - high praise indeed coming from her, especially when you consider that she wouldn't use ordinary non-fat instant milk to put out a fire or pour down a rathole. Amazon has Nido for EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE as WalMart (even less if you set up auto-delivery), and Amazon will deliver it at no charge directly to your door and NOT charge sales tax. What's not to like? Things to consider: *Comes in a 'taller than but same diameter as' a No. 10 size steel can with a plastic lid, but can is sealed with a peel-to-remove foil lid, so is not as suitable for long-term storage. *Additionally, because it is a full-fat powdered milk product, it will not store for anywhere near as long as non-fat powdered milk because the fat will eventually turn rancid. Suggest not storing it for more than a year or so past the 'best by' date. >>Note<<<: ordered on 15 MAR 15; arrived 17 MAR 15; 'best by' date on all six cans 29 FEB 16 *Made in Mexico (but then again, so is the exhaust system and transmission on my Chevy van) so the label is more Spanish than English, and Spanish first, then English. *Non-fat dry milk dissolves in cold tap water. Nido dissolves best in warm water. Not a biggie, and it's better if it's refrigerated anyway. OR - you can use half the amount of warm water called for, and then make up the remainder of the volume by adding ice cubes to cool it down immediately. So - If you've noticed, a half-gallon of milk is not that much less expensive than a whole gallon. It's just my wife and me, so we won't always consume a gallon of whole milk until it's it several days past its 'best by' date, and sometimes we wind up having to discard it when it's turned sour. With the Nido, I can make up as much as we need as we need it; the unreconstituted powder stores at room temperature. This is good stuff. Try a small can and see what you think. UPDATE on Expiration Dates 04FEB17. As stated earlier, 'Best By' dates are mostly just a suggestion. Am halfway through another of the 29FEB16 dated cans and everything's fine. Store this in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight and it stays good for a long, long time. UPDATE: 28APR17. Just finished another 29FEB16 can. It tastes just fine. Again, store in cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and it will stay good for a long, long time. UPDATE: 01NOV17. Just finished another 29FEB16 can. It tastes just fine. Have been replacing the cans on a one-to-one basis as I use up the 29FEB16 stock to stretch out the 'best by' dates. UPDATE: 09MAR18. Just opened the last of six 29FEB16 cans, and it's perfectly fine two years past the 'best by' date.

Very good milk powder, does dissolve easily in my hot chocolate mix. Very nice tasting, but not as rich as Red Cow or Peak. It’s very powdery compared to those last two, and it has more extra ingredients. It works, but I’ll only get it if I can’t get the other two. It is, of course, more cost-effective.

I am a 70-year-old woman who still loves to drink glasses of whole milk. I tried THIS particular powdered milk, and I find it so very delicious! I sometimes add MORE powder than is called for, then it gives it a more "milky milk" taste! (If that makes sense) For an added treat, you can add a few drops of vanilla flavoring. Yummy stuff! I wish they had the larger container in stock because I would be buying THAT size instead. I've been going through this powdered milk like crazy; it's THAT good!

One more important fact is that it has an amazing shelf life, so you can store it in the cupboard and use it when you need it. Although Nestlé has some bad rep regarding their ethical method as a corporation, you can't argue with the quality of its products. Nido is one shining example of how they perfected the formula over the years. This Nido powdered milk is a great product that is more affordable than the one bought in the store.
