Review: Works Well, Smaller than expected but thats just fine - I had originally bought this for my new gaming PC as a second monitor to use solely for gaming, it arrived before the rest of my parts did though so I figured I'd hook it up to the old pc (Old PC cant support more than one monitor) so I sidelined my usual monitor to test this one out, I'm not disappointed, there's plenty of features, it has a very crisp image, various settings for different gaming types, the first hour or so is weird because of the curve if you've never had a curved monitor before, but I prefer it now for almost everything. The only thing I'll say that's a. . . subjective negative is that it's smaller than my old monitor which was a Sceptre despite them both claiming to be the same size inch wise, I would assume this has to do with the curve in the display as it's not much smaller. Overall, I don't really notice the size difference after a day save for more room on my desk. 10/10 would buy again, and probably will when I go up to 3 screens, 3 of these wouldn't be a bad deal, especially for the price.
Review: Solid monitor - I purchased these for a triple monitor setup. They came well packaged. They came with both an HDMI and a DisplayPort cable. They are slightly curved but not dramatically so. All the pixels appear to be intact. The picture is definitely the most crisp and clear with DisplayPort cables. I use them for work productivity, which has been fabulous. I also sometimes use them for triple monitor gaming, and they work well and I appreciate that they can go up to 165Hz. I purchased these while on sale (~100 dollars), and I feel like on sale they were a good value. I'm not sure I would pay full price for them.

**Q: If this is a 75hz monitor then how do the ports (hdmi, vga, that only support 1080p @60hz) support such a high refresh rate?**
A: Let's do some math to look at the throughput potential.At 4K / 60Hz, a display commands almost the entire interface for data throughput. 4096 * 2160 equals approximately 8.8 million pixels per frame; there are 60 refreshes per second, giving us a pixel-rate of 530 million pixels transferred per second (8.8m px * 60Hz). For clarity, 530 million pixels per second could also be written as 530MHz - now the picture comes together. On HDMI 2.0, we're falling within that 600MHz pixel clock, supporting 4K60 only just. That was the big marketing push with HDMI 2.0.1080p at 120Hz, then, would fit within even HDMI 1.4b's 340MHz pixel clock (1920 * 1080 = 2.07 million * 120 = 248 million pixels per second). There's more to it than that, though, and HDMI 1.4b simultaneously supports and does not support 1920x1080 at 120Hz. It supports the 120Hz 1080p throughput only for 3D processing, which it does by cloning the data packet for concurrent output to the display device. For 2D viewing - which is what almost all gamers mean when they want "120Hz" - HDMI 1.4b is stuck at just 60Hz for 1080p. This is commonly misunderstood in the HDMI 1.4b spec language.For HDMI 2.0, 1080p120 falls well within the 600MHz pixel clock and 18Gbps throughput cap (even accounting for 8b/10b encoding). It is possible for 1080p to be supported at 120Hz on HDMI 2.0; unfortunately, very few solutions on-market are capable of actually utilizing this potential. Most monitors selling with HDMI 2.0, like the $500 ASUS PB287Q, are 4K displays that cap-out at 60Hz. This is because HDMI is ultimately a consumer interface that's targeted at TVs, but finds its way into desktop displays. For gaming use cases at higher refresh rates, it is still safest and easiest to just opt for DisplayPort or Dual-Link DVI (something we've previously explained).For HDMI 2.0 to properly work for higher display refresh rates, the monitor and the video card must both host the HDMI 2.0 interface and, obviously, the monitor has to operate at a higher refresh rate.So now the question is, does this monitor have HDMI 2.0? My son is 11 and has fast reflexes, he noticed that with his older budget monitor he couldn't get more than 60 FPS, so he wanted an upgrade. I got him this monitor and now he can get much higher FPS, I think 145 or 165, I forget... anyway, he was very happy with it, and the picture looks nice and clear and the build quality seems good. I've had another version of the ASUS brand monitors that's been in use several years already with no issues so it seems like a safe bet.
