**Q: Are these really 12 ply?**
A: They are *technically* 12-ply.  However, the weaving is so loose that their absorbency is more comparable to something that is 4-ply.  They are folded over 4 times to create the 12 layers, and the gaps between the weaving on a single layer averages to around 3mm or 1/8".  They still work for what I need them for, but it does feel a little deceptive.

**Q: are these woven?**
A: Yes, they are, a fairly loose weave. But they are plain gauze and nothing else, if that’s what you need— no coating, nothing added.
