Acid Drops (Coronet Books)

A classic! Highly recommended. Acidic wit and clever use of words - wouldn't expect less from the late great KW. New copies are very expensive so this was a great find as I was just concerned about the content. Although in very good condition, it was clearly second hand.

Bought it for my husband and I can heear him now reading it and having a good old chuckle!

Given as a gift, definitely seemed to enjoy the collection of stories! :)

Read the first few pages and discarded as I found it wasn't as humorous as it was advertised as. However on reflection I wish I had kept it as it may have improved had I read further.

I lost my original copy of this which I read many years ago. Love this book, some great quotes, classic Kenneth acidity. Great service.

A Very funny book by a very funny man. The stories and jokes although old are still to this day relevant. You get an understanding of Kenneth the man when you are reading this book. I couldn't put this book down.

Tedious and dated. I read a dozen pages and then it was off to the charity shop.

It's hard to read anything by KW when one knows of his personal torment, but this is an excellent, funny and intelligent collection of jokes and anecdotes showing him at his best.

Once again, Kenneth Williams shows us the carefully scripted side of his personality which is conservatively witty but also delightfully acerbic. In private and among his friends, however, he was outrageous as any flaming queen. However, his misuse of words belies the fact that his ever-present dictionary failed to consider the correct use of some of his less widely used descriptions. A great addition to the library of all KW fans....

Dreadful. I expected some witty remarks from "Mr Snide" himself. But it's just a collection of hackneyed stories and anecdotes that we have seen before or can be easily looked up today.
