how do i know what model i have it is not marked?

I believe the kindle keyboard was one of the first models that came out. It has the keyboard at the bottom of the screen. The kindle paperwhite was a later model

Yes the case is rigid. Your Kindle will not flex. The case feels nice to hold also.

Will this fit 1st generation kindle keyboard?

I do not believe so, but I'm not really knowledgeable. I have a Kindle w/wifi. I called the help desk @ 1 866 321 8851.

Looking for case with built in light. Does this one have that?

No, it does not. You'll have to buy the light separate from the case. I bought the ikross black dual LED clip on light and it has worked great for me if that helps any with your search. But, the case is just the case, no light built in.

Easy fit and secure

This is the perfect case for my old keypad Kindle, replacing the cover I bought when the Kindle was new in 2011. The quality material looks attractive; the color is beautiful. Sturdy Case for an Old Kindle

I recently picked up an old Kindle 3 (3g) that didn’t have a case with it. I saw this one available for a reasonable price and decided to buy. I’m not unsatisfied by any means, but gave it 4 stars due to the side magnets not being very strong. It also doesn’t take advantage of the built in case clips meant for interfacing directly with the kindle itself. Overall a good value that looks great, is nice and slim, and a soft pleather to the touch.
