The brown leather is a statement within itself with a sturdy yet elegant feel. The interior holds a junior sized lined pad which is held securely on the right side. The left provides places to keep your papers and smaller items, such as stamps or business cards. In the center, a pen holder completes the portfolio. The pen holder is on the smaller side and doesn't allow my favorite pen (G2) to fit in the holder, but the pen easily clips to the holder. If I were to make a great product even better for my use, I would add a magnetic tab on the front so the portfolio remains solidly closed in my bag.

Just received the product the other day to replace a 10-year-old, worn-out padfolio. The outer material is very stiff (likely due to the combination of leather and stiff cardboard backing) and seems resistant to scuff and scratches. The window inside for you business card has a loose piece of plastic in the slot that can be removed. I work in healthcare and carry it in the cargo pocket of my scrubs or in the pocket of the lab coat, it fits perfectly.

After reading the reviews that this would not lie flat and other issues, I moved on, but came back to it after searching others, and am very pleased. The small size (holds 5" x 8" pad) is perfect for meetings at crowded tables. It is a professional-looking, brown bonded leather with brown and black interior and would work for business and casual meetings, club, or home use, although I'd use the larger size if I needed to take a lot of notes. When I first received it I gingerly bent it back at the spine past 180 degrees, and heard a snap, possibly what it was bonded to. It did not appear to be damaged, and lies almost flat, leaving the far left side with less than 3/4" of space beneath, which does not bother me (it doesn't try to close up and does not need to be anchored down as I had pictured from some reviews). I am left-handed, and have no trouble using it. If it doesn't close quite enough, I just crimp the spine lightly with my hand and it closes fine. It is exactly what I was hoping for in size, appearance, color, function and value. I hope it lasts as long as I do.

My husband is very picky about the quality of items. He needed a new wallet and I was so impressed with how this specific wallet was designed. I bought the first one for his Christmas present and he lost it a month later! He immediately had to have the same as a replacement! He absolutely loves it!

I bought this for an upcoming interview knowing I'd want to carry resumes with me. I assumed I'd fold them in half and keep them in the single pocket, but as you see in the pictures, the paper still hangs out the top, so any resumes I give out will be frayed at the edge due to a lack of protection, or get wet if I walk in the rain. If you don't care about the protection of papers, then this is fine. It looks good and seems durable. It can be folded 180 degrees open, but is a bit stiff (I'm sure that will soften up over a few uses).

I purchased for my fiance as a Christmas 2017 gift. He started using it right away & keeps track of customers, makes lists for his work, etc....... It is made of a quality leather that will hold up to constant use. One pad comes with it, but the size of 5" X 8" is sold most places in packs of 3, & of course sold here on Amazon also. They are sold in white or yellow paper pads. On the sleeve, or back-side of the cover, is a slot for a credit card, or a license, or both. & a larger slip in pocket on the back-side of the cover, for loose paper or receipts, etc......(so they will not fall out) I will definitely purchase this again when this one wears out. :)
