I followed the instructions for the most part but I added salt, a splash of fish sauce and a little bit of better than boullion before boiling. It really helped bring out the natural flavors of the herbs and chicken. I boiled everything in my Dutch oven for 1hr 45min. The chicken was so tender and practically fell off the bone. I added salt and pepper to my bowl and dipped the pieces of chicken in a soy sauce mixture with a tiny bit of sugar. I think it would go great with kimchi as well The only thing that threw me off was how much energy I had after eating a bowl. I didn’t realize that gingseng was so energizing! I had a bowl at 6pm and cleaned up my whole house like crazy after. I had a hard time sleeping last night as well. Although I felt great last night, I would definitely recommend eating this in the morning or for lunch only This was super easy to make and comforting. I’m definitely going to keep this in stock for sick days or to make whenever I feel like I need a health boost!

**Q: How long can these packs last on the shelf unopened before going bad?**
A: There should be an expiration date on the package somewhere…you might have to check for…or sometimes the date it was made and packaged is the date on the packaging but as with any dehydrated product’s, I’d say it would last a couple years…mine say 2023 and I bought them in 2020-2021…hope this helps

A: Yes, the chicken size does not really matter, because it's for flavoring the soup. In Korea, people often cook two small chickens with one ingredient bag. Use a pressure cooker for easier cooking! (20minutes on high pressure will do)

I've purchased 5 of these and consumed 3. I'd recommend this pack of dry ingredients--the flavor you get is authentic. It only needs several fresh ingredients like green onion, garlic, and, of course, 2 Cornish hens. My only gripes are that 1) the included sticky rice is insufficient for two hens. It needs about 2x-3x the amount. 2) some packs only come with 1/2 a chestnut. I prefer having 2-3 whole chestnuts per chicken. Overall, I'll continue to buy this brand over others because of the convenience and quality.
