Lovely pastel color, washes out fairly quickly
My late-teen son's hair is already bleached platinum, but without access to his stylist during the pandemic, he wanted a refresh of his pastel color. I bought this, applied it with a hair color brush -- but you could use one of those applicator bottles, as well. Just be aware it's a little jelly-like, meaning it drips MUCH more easily that typical cream hair color. Use a floor covering & wipe up spills immediately! After saturating his hair with the color, I used a plastic hair cap, then heated it under a bonnet on medium for an hour. Lastly, after rinsing, I followed with clear Sebastian Cellophane to help prolong the color. Initially it was a little bolder than he'd wanted the first couple days, but after he washed it, he was thrilled. Pastels ALWAYS wash out quickly, and this is no exception, but with the heated bonnet, and cellophane, it has lasted him over 4 weeks with good color. Changing colors is fun, so I did not have him use a color-depositing clenditioner -- if you're doing a single color, and want to maintain it for longer than 4 weeks, I'd recommend maintaining with color-depositing clenditioner every time you wash. I'm rating this 5 stars, because it met our expectations with the understanding that pastel colors are always short-lived. (Note, we used two colors - baby blue & mint)

Sticky texture that leaves hair dull
I've used a lot of different brightly colored dyes, Adore is probably the worst. At first I didn't notice because I mixed with conditioner to lighten the color which gave it a little slip when applied and it was on freshly bleached hair so I put the rougher than usual finished texture down to over processing. However, after using this dye a few more times, alternated with better quality brands, I realized Adore was the problem. The dye is runnier than typical and once applied it's sticky. Using Adore by itself, without a conditioner mixed in, is impossible to comb through because the hairs stick to each other as if they're tangled or matted. After the dye is washed out, my hair isn't as soft and shiny as it is with other brands of dye. I think it's a residue being left behind, rather than damage to the hair strand. After enough washing and conditioning, it will get back to how it was before using this dye, but the color is also very faded at that point. The initial color payoff on these dyes is good, but it also fades really fast. I did a two tone dye job with green from Joico on one side and purple Adore on the other. Initially, the Adore was slightly less shiny but much crisper and more vibrant in color than the Joico side, but the Joico color still looked pretty good 4 weeks later and the Adore side faded out two weeks in.

A gorgeous color! My daughter loved the results! I dye my hair too, and this color is stunning! Mine looks even brighter, since my hair was at a level 9 or 10.

Updated: EXPIRED Bottles, But Works On Heavily Bleached Hair
Update: I'm still not impressed that they sent me expired dye, but I have figured out that this DOES work on treated/bleached hair if you bleach it long enough. The dye did not stick at all to my natural light brown/ dark blonde hair. My goal was to have a pale blue or teal streak in my hair. This time around, I used Wella lightening powder and 30 developer for a full hour and then immediately applied this Sky Blue dye for 15 minutes, wrapped up under a plastic sandwich bag. I then treated the streak with heat using a blow dryer. The color is holding so far after washing with shampoo every day and is a nice pale teal color. Old Review: I wish I'd read all the recent reviews from 2020 before buying two bottles. Maybe this stuff was great once, but not any more. The seller sent me two bottles marked EXP: 10/14/2020 which arrived today 11/24/2020. I am just dying a lightened streak for a fun flash of color, but it would not stick past one wash even to lightened (blonde) hair strands.

Get a different brand. Not the same amazing dye that it used to be.
Not the same formula that it used to be. This was thick like a gel and barely pigmented. The old formula was extremely pigmented and watery. This formula sucks in comparison.

Adore SKY BLUE hair dye results
Rinsed out of my baby dreads so easily!! Sky blue is not the sky blue I was picturing but it exceeds my expectations because it is a realistic sky blue! I should have gotten two bottles to fully cover without blonde spots, but I am absolutely in love with this less intense( almost smokey, metallic looking at times )blue color. I loved Adore dyes before letting my hair dread natutally, and I love it even more with dreads. The colors fade prettier than Manic Panic, and last longer. The dye smells good, rinses out extremely easily after applying. Also, it is more drying than conditioning, while still being a vegetable dye free of ammonia or peroxide- which is good for dreads - encourages knotting while conditioning (Manic Panic) would slow or reverse the process.

Gorgeous colour!
I bought periwinkle, ocean blue, emerald, sky blue, soft lavender, & pink petal & used them on platinum blonde dreadlocks. I love the colours & will def use them all again

Didn't produce a great result at all!
This product was very runny unlike the other colour I bought and didn't produce a great result unlike the Pink I got from another seller. They smell great and are easy to apply however on this occasion the result was very poor - even after reapplying.

Waste of money
It does not work at all. Not recommended. We did it 2 times, 15 min, then 40 min. No result.

Very nice colour and lasts quite a bit. I bleached hair but left shadow root of natural medium brown hair then applied this product. The colour didn't look nice on the natural part compared to bleached ones so the next time I bleached it whole and applied colour all over and it looks very nice. If you want shadow root then I would maybe suggest applying it after. Colour is rich and looks like the picture if you are applying on bleached hair. On natural it will be dulled but still visible.
