    Great light for the money!

Nothing but positives to share about this light, especially given the cost. LED is bright - even on the 2nd to lowest setting, and using the green color only, it's enough to light up the palm fronds of our palm tree nearly 20 feet up. After 4 hours of continuous use, the lens, nor the housing are even warm to the touch. Cord length is ample, at 4.5' - 5', and the overall build quality is above what I'd expect out of a $15 light. Mine have been rained on and in the lawn sprinkler's line of fire without incident. The remote works as it should, and can operate more than one light, you just need to point it at the one you want to adjust. This is great for multiple lights, as you don't have to keep track of individual remotes. Also helps if you misplace one. Since each light comes with a remote - just pull another one out of the drawer. We have a couple of these outside of the house for colorful uplighting, but I can certainly see how they can be used for many other applications using the white setting.. I may buy a few more and mount to the ceiling of my garage and either hard wire them, or plug them into a switched outlet for additional garage lighting over the cars. Much cheaper than anything comparable you can get at the local home improvement stores for "garage lighting" . They'd also make great lights to mount under the soffit and face outward if you wanted some outside light for evening/night activities or security.

Bright, vivid colors, and doesn't use a giant power brick...

I love any kind of RGB lighting, especially in my house. I use this item strictly indoors, so I cannot shed light on people who want to use this in their front yard. Granted, this light is pretty damn bright as it fills my whole room with any color. Some highlight:-Easy setup, simply plug it in and it lights up-Small and functional remote, although the only way to turn the light off is by the remote or unplugging it.-Standard color range for an RGB light.-White light is not practical for general lighting, it will strain your eyes after a short amount of time.I had first purchased a long LED RGB strip which was much brighter due to the fact it had 100 more leds than this flood light. Though in comparison, I am still satisfied with the amount of lighting given off.I just love the small form factor, the portability of it, and the fact I can mount it anywhere I like without having a one-time sticking application (like the LED strip).I DID NOT get this item at a discounted/free charge. Paid full price for this baby and still giving it full stars. I always update my reviews as soon as something breaks, so if you don't see any updates, that means this light is still going strong.EDIT 9/3/2016:- I started to notice a weird bug in the pre-programmed features: After the light fades through the colors for a while, it occasionally will get stuck on a single color or outright turn off. This is rare enough to where I wouldn't bother getting a replacement, still works just fine.

    Okay for the price

This light gets three stars mainly for the case design. It is a neat little thing and looks like it would survive being outside for an extended period. The parts inside are less impressive. I was skeptical of the waterproof claim so I took it apart (see pictures).Construction is decent for the price with silicone gaskets and a good cord seal. The power supply is minimalist and the remote controls are built into a board surrounding the LED chip. I was pleasantly surprised to see heat sink compound used under the LED - a necessity and sometimes omitted on other cheap lights. In operation on the bench, the light only manages to draw a maximum 6.3 Watts (including driver losses) with all LED colors fully on. Individual colors pull 3 Watts each. One would expect close to 9 Watts combined but I'm guessing the power supply is not up to the task. Speaking of the power supply, this little thing runs hot. After fifteen minutes of operation in open air, The coil and one capacitor both reached over 152 deg F. I'm sure once the little block is stuffed back into the tiny enclosure, the temperature will be even higher. If I had to put money on what was going to fail first, it would be the power supply. If the actual LED were to fail, 10W RGB replacements are easy to find and only a few bucks if you can manage a little soldering. The remote has an issue with the strobe function. On most other RGB LED controllers, strobe is an actual fast flashing of white or one of the other lighter colors. On this light, it is no different than a slow fade function. The brightness level can only be adjusted up or down to one of four levels. In actual use, the light works well for uplighting a tree or other yard features. On a street without any lights, it manages to cover about half of the front of a house. Plan on using at least two or more depending on the size of the house. If you live near street lights or have lots of landscape lighting, consider moving up to a 20W or 30W model. When using single colors, blue and green are very bright but red is barely noticeable. After all, it's only 3 Watts or less of red being emitted. The light turns on with the last color setting after being unplugged and replugged. This is great for outdoor timer use. The remote is not needed once a color choice is made. You won't have to run around the yard pointing at different lights to reset colors. In the end, I'll be keeping the light since it was so cheap and does work. I'll put it under a tree for the holidays and keep my fingers crossed that it makes it through the winter.****UPDATE 12/17/2016****I have had the spotlight outside since the beginning of October (for Halloween uplighting a small tree) and now for Christmas (pointed at my front door in green). It has seen drenching rains, wind, snow and sub zero temperatures. I have not had any problems with water ingress and it reliably powers on to the last color setting. Given its performance and low price, I am adding a star to say "I like it."
