Great product - lots of moss, worked pefectly
This forest moss works extremely well. Once you soak it, it bulks up way more than expected — one of the compressed disks expanded enough to fill almost four sections of my moss pole. The quantity is impressive, and the texture is perfect for keeping humidity up. Clean, soft, and great for plant projects or terrarium setups. Definitely worth it!

Fluffs up well in water
I’ve heard that fresh moss is better to use for plants than this dried stuff. That said, this fluffs up well in water and is easy to keep moist in a moss pole. Getting frost moss would probably hav3 a high shipping cost

Perfect for my terrarium!
I love how versatile this moss is! I use a brick for my 2 40-gallon terrariums, and the other for my potted plants to hold in moisture, especially my tropical species! When using for my terrariums, I have to soak and pick through for any small stems or pieces not needed in my turtles' enclosure's. Compared to other brands and different types of sphagnum moss, this one is best, especially for the amount and price! All of the other ones I have tried have way too many stems and various scrap pieces that can be harmful to your reptiles! All moss will contain some stem and unwanted extra material, but I have never had a big issue with these. Never had any with mold, unlike many others I have seen or received! One brick soaked for 15 mins will fill up both of my 40-gallon terrariums about 2 to 3 inches. Just enough for my burrowing babies to have a nice home that is safe and sanitary! I love how it can be reused several times before discarding and getting new! A good rinse under hot water and squeezed to damp, I reuse it about three time. I like to do a deep clean about once a month, so one brick lasts all together around 4 months!

EXO TERRA FOREST PLUME MOSS
I highly recommend especially when you need to care for your plants and heavy lifting is not an option. Just put in a bucket and add water and you have a huge ton of moss. I use straight for plants that roots need to grab onto something to root, great for orchids.

Seems like it will work!
So I believe its called a "two pack" because each package comes with two blocks of pressed moss. The amount of moss seemed as advertised, but it depends on how much you fluff it up. The plastic tupperware holds 5L and had 1 package (2 thin blocks) and soaked up to overflow the tupperware, and with squeezing out water and fluffing it up would be closer to 10 L of moss. Also put two packages (4 blocks) into a 5 gallon bucket and it almost filled it up while not being fluffed up at all. And I had lots left over! The scent - it smells like moss, earthy, nothing bad. The moss itself was very dirty, had to rinse it a lot! Not as high quality as some orchid moss I've used but still seemed good enough. Got this moss for dahlia tuber winter storage so I'm going to see if it will work out!

Great for moss pole.
I also used this in a terrarium before. Now days I mainly use it for the moss poles and it works great, the same as sphagnum moss as far as moisture. Plants root into right way. Some people mention that it smells, I like the smell, it’s an earthy smell. The water has a beige color when you squeeze it after soaking, when using it for the plants, I dont care but in the terrarium, I washed it as much as a can with well water then when I had a chance I soaked it in rain water but rain water is not mandatory, I just wanted to do it because I had it. I keep a couple of terrariums for the winter time since gray tree frogs loves to hide in my house plants, all my house plants go outside for the spring, summer and fall. So in the fall, I see these frogs, sometimes I can find them quickly and take them out, other times it’s already too cold, I don’t have the heart to dump them out there when it’s like Dec, Jan, you know what I mean. Overall, I do recommend this product and for sure will continue to use it. You can see more on my I G Ufitlinda.

Ok but not great.
It is ok. You get what you pay for. I’m shocked that something made for plants and reptiles would have so much debris and plastic in it. At first I thought, oh it’s artifacts left over from the packaging process like a loose ribbon of plastic getting caught when it’s sealed. Nope. This has been throughout even the middle layers. It is really well compressed. And while it looks like 1 brick, it’s two skinny pieces compressed together. It took me about 2.5 gallons of water to get this rehydrated. And once I did it was easy to see how dirty it was. Just tons of sticks, leaf litter, dirt and ribbon strings of plastic. It did make a lot and you get what you pay for. But I’m not sure I will buy it again. As far as smell , it’s the smell of a damp forest floor. It’s earth. Nothing off. Just the amount of debris included could be significantly less. Worried about the mold issue others are having and hope that it doesn’t mold inside my moss cages.
