Product Description Over 70 minutes of toe-tapping country tunes featuring five unreleased performances! .com Elvis Presley was perceived as a country music newcomer in 1954, albeit an unorthodox one. In later years, regardless of how much pop fluff and insipid movie fare he recorded, country remained a vital touchstone. This generously programmed collection (including five previously unissued alternate takes) serves as a powerful reminder. It begins with the Sun recordings of "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky" and samples Elvis's rocking, early RCA versions of beloved country tunes "When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again" and his childhood favorite, "Old Shep." Elvis drew from all over the spectrum, covering Eddy Arnold's 1947 hit, "I'll Hold You in My Heart," along with the later "Green, Green Grass of Home," "Help Me Make It Through the Night," and "He'll Have to Go." A newer country cover, of Jerry Reed's "Guitar Man," returned him to the hard-rocking style that many feared he'd abandoned. By drawing from across the board, this set offers a vital look at an often-underappreciated side of Presley. --Rich Kienzle

Elvis singing country songs...AWESOME
Went to Graceland recently, and I was just in complete awe as to this man's accomplishments...I'm just sad that he dies 4 months before I was born, and I never got to see him live in concert. Just about everyone on the planet knows Elvis' signature songs, but they don't all know that he did a lot of cover songs, and he did a great many country songs too. Everything in Graceland was was overpriced, even though I did buy 2 mugs, 3 shirts, magnets, keychains, and a ball cap, but I couldn't bring myself to spend the money to get some of the albums I was interested in. Luckily, Amazon had this album for 1/3 the cost of Graceland, so I snatched it right up. What I enjoy about this album, is the songs aren't traditionally poppy Elvis tunes, and are really very much country. If you are looking for something a bit different and you enjoy country or Elvis, then I would recommend this album.

Perfect for Elvis Fans
Perfect Elvis. It's there anymore to say? If you're an Elvis fan, buy this CD. I'm very glad I did. True Elvis fans are not critical if Elvis. I listened to enjoy the music, and that's exactly what I did.

Gute Compilation
