Using a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter doesn’t create enough pressure to clean anything. A standard garden sprayer is more effective. I have no idea why this exists.

I liked the design. Note you need a very powerful pressure washer to spin it. I bought it specifically for my electric pressure washer and wasn’t able to get it to spin. I’m trying to clean filters from the inside out and the higher pressure would destroy them. I’m absolutely positive it would’ve worked with my gas pressure washer. You need a lot of water flow and high pressure to use this device correctly. Other than that, a good product I would buy again if I need it for my gas pressure washer to clean out tanks, pipes, etc.

At ~$20 or less, this is an amazingly great cleaner. It fits 2.5gallon jugs perfectly. As others have mentioned, if your water pressure is crap you might have problems. From my garden hose it would work, it just took a long time with low pressure hitting the top (bottom?) of the jug. I ended up tapping off the pressure side of my spray load pump and wow does it go. Jugs that didn't foam much were cleaner in about 6 seconds than I get with a normal triple rinse. Does an excellent job with pressure.

I purchased this CIP ball with admittedly low expectations that it would be as functional as I hoped but since the price was low enough to make it a low risk purchase I went ahead. After using it, I am convinced that the manufacture doesn’t actually test the product prior to marketing it for sale. This ball functions worse than I expected, and I had low expectations already! I am using a blichmann riptide pump, which is one of the most powerful pumps available on the homebrew market, and the cleaning solution literally just dribbled out with hardly any rotation and definitely not any sort of force against even the low sections of the fermenter. This ball is not at all worth the money.

With a normal Homebrew pump you won't get a good pressure and rotation of the head. I use it upside down for a keg washer (Which is not the way to use it) and is clear to see that the lowest slots are quite open and deliver lots of water loosing there a lot of pressure. A bit of a hack I found useful is to close those slots with epoxy resin forcing the flow to the top slots and getting more flow and pressure for rotation. You can play closing different areas to get the spray as you need. Is not as it should be, but if you already have it you can make it work.
