Will this fit a 5 year old boy?

It will not. I ordered this, it came and it was WAY to small.

is this big enough for an adult to wear?

No it is not.... it fits my 5 and 7 year old grandsons, but no it is too small for an adult.

What is it made out of? Is it flimsy plastic or heavy foam or rubber or what?

Cannot be easily destroyed :-)

I bought this mask for my grandson who turned six years old and had to wait for his birthday as I sent this to my daughter. This is the best mask I have seen for a child in a while. It is made of hard but durable plastic material and has a rubber ring for the eye area for comfort. And lastly, it will last a long time as it cannot be easily destroyed by my grandson lol.
