Best gas can I've owned in over 35 years
Gas cans have been pretty terrible ever since the EPA got involved. I have wasted more gas from the "new and improved" EPA cans that regularly dribble and leak when filling up the lawnmower than I ever lost from my old boyhood lawnmowing metal gas can that had an open spout that vented straight into the air. And THIS particular gas can bests them all. It is incredibly sturdy, and very easy to use. No more fiddling with plastic caps that cut your fingers and never fully open nor close, or with spouts that force you to hold the can in awkward positions in order to pour the fuel. The one-hand operated, spring-loaded cap, along with the flexible spout, makes this an absolute breeze to vent and to pour. It fills *very* fast, and yet it is so easy control that I haven't wasted a drop since buying it. After my second use of this can, I loaded up my collection of plastic gas cans and took them to the dump.

Only Way To Safely Store Gasoline (IMHO)
UPDATE 12/30/2022: Have had this can and a smaller DOT "over-the-road" transport rated can for over 6 years now and I love them. Have had no issues at all. This is a lifetime product. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I, like many people who store gasoline, had used those cheap plastic containers for years and have never felt safe with them. You may have heard the stories about how they can supposedly split under pressure or even explode since they have no spark arrestors in the spout. And the plastic IS porous allowing evaporation into the atmosphere over time. Read the forum comments on the later model C.A.R.B. approved cans. They leak gas when trying to use them and are just hard to use without spills--that doesn't help the environment nor make them safer to use. With the plastic jugs, I just was not comfortable having these things in my attached garage knowing they would truly fuel any fire once the plastic container melted. I had first hand experience with the benefit of a metal container when I received news that my beloved street motorcycle (with a full tank of gas) had burned in a garage fire. When I inspected the charred remains of the frame and engine, to my surprise, the steel gas tank was STILL full of gas! Some of the aluminum pieces on the bike had melted and were laying in solidified puddles below the bike. But the tank was still intact. This had been a hot fire. But NO explosion or further fueling of the fire. Why? I've been told there is very little oxygen in a properly sealed gas container--the other component required for fire (or an explosion). I had done my research looking at various metal gasoline can manufacturer's products and reading user comments. In my opinion, the Justrite safety can seemed to have the edge over its competitors with their safety features. There are the built-in filler and spout flame arrestors, and the AccuFlow feature that allows you to CONTROL the flow into any gas tank with the handle valve. It just seems to have all of the right components for a safety gas can besides being a strong robust container. They are designed to seal and prevent vapor loss, but also safely vent in a fire instead of bursting under the pressure of expanding vapor and fuel. Yes, the cost of this model is three times the price of a plastic can, but what price do you place on safety? When I considered the cost to rebuild a home, or tragically that of a life, the decision was easy for me. They should last for many years and the company offers replacement parts if needed. In practice, a metal can is going to add some additional weight when lifting. Slight folks, beware of this when choosing larger size cans. But on the plus side, it does easily dispense gasoline into my lawnmower and generator without spills (you may see a few drops drain from the spout however). Now when entering the garage I no longer smell gas fumes with these sealed cans. Build quality, materials and craftsmanship seem to be excellent. I can fully recommend the product.

Compared to the plastic California compliant cans, this can is fantastic. I will be ordering another one.
I'm reviewing this gas can as it compares to standard plastic CA compliant cans that are available at auto parts stores and home improvement centers. Compared to those plastic cans, this can is an absulute 5 star product. Firstly, you do have to assemble the hose on the can with a gasket and two screws. I used gasket sealer on the gasket and firmly tightened, but not OVER tightened, the screws. The gasket can smash too much and crack/tear, so don't over tighten the screws. Filling at the gas station was very easy. Just pop the fill cap and off you go. I had the can in the trunk of my car and didn't smell any gas when I got home. I used the can to add gas to my truck, and it worked great. Not a drop was spilled on the can emptied quickly. One note: In order to get all the gas out of the can, you eventually have to turn it "upside down". Don't do this too early though, because the weight of the remaining fuel will open the fill cap and you will spill. Once the fuel level gets low enough it can't force the cap open and you can then fully empty the can. The can is nice and sturdy and looks good. The lever to open the valve is sturdy and easy to use.

Very good product
Iโve had this container for a few weeks and used it for the first time today. It was very stable on the ground at the gas pumps and in the back of my SUV on the short drive home. The real test came when I transferred three gallons to a smaller can. The flow control handle worked like an absolute dream. It was easy to monitor the flow from a slight trickle to max volume. When I let go, it shut off immediately. The spout is solidly built and easy to bend to fit your needs. Iโd like to see a spout cap offered. This is a vast improvement over the atrocious โsafetyโ cans available at the big chain stores. The price is a little shocking but the quality is well worth it. Very highly recommended.

Great gas can
This gas can is much better than typical plastic gas cans as far as safety, ease of use, and accurately dispensing the gas. I have had this for 2.5 years, and it has worked great. One thing to note (this is also mentioned in the answered questions), is that this particular model (Justrite 7250130) comes with a 1" diameter hose. That will NOT fit in a standard car gasoline filler spout. If you want to be able to fill up a car with this, get the Justrite 7250120 can, which is the same can with a 5/8" diameter hose. You can also get the Justrite 11078 hose and swap it for the 1" hose that comes on this model. That said, with the 5/8" hose, this works great for filling up a car. Most plastic gas cans come with a short nozzle, and you can't get it all the way down into the opening to fill up a car. So, to do that, you have to get a funnel in addition to the can. With this can (and the 5/8" hose!) you can get all the way down into the opening to fill up the car.

GREAT Storage - Need to Request proper mounting screws
This is a wonderful storage can. Easy Fill. Easy Dispense. Absolutely leakproof. The blowback screen is quite easy to remove if you choose to do so for maintenance -- it lifts straight out with no tools required. However, the product ships with the wrong nozzle mounting screws. These screws are used to attach the nozzle assembly to the main unit. The flange on the main unit has holes that are tapped. The screws that are supplied have the wrong thread pitch and will destroy the existing threads in the flange. You can try threading the supplied screws into the flange by hand to confirm if you happen to have the correct screws. If not, you need to call Justright Customer Service and request new screws, or use the chat feature on their website. They seem to know about this problem and are more than happy to mail out replacement screws at no charge. The only bad thing is that it takes almost a week to receive the new screws, so that adds an extra delay before you can begin using it.

Safer to use than plastic and leak free.
I bought the 5-gallon cans because I got tired of the plastic gas jugs where the plastic spout seal becomes brittle and starts breaking. This gas can is a whole lot sturdier; no leaks and I love the long spout (type 2) and Fast fill. They sell 2 types of spouts; 5/8" and 1" the smaller one will fit in the car gas tank opening. The safety latch can be single-handedly used in contrast to the plastic gas jugs that are a battle to get past. Though they are expensive, the pluses outweigh the cost. In fact, I'm planning on buying at least one more to completely replace my plastic jugs. They should last me a lifetime.

Excellent fuel can!
Best fuel can I have found on the market. Pros: They just work great. All metal construction, good paint, and fantastic valves that can accurately release fuel at the speed you want - from a trickle to wide open. They do not tip, and are just a quality gas can! Hard to find good quality gas cans, but Justrite still makes them! Con: The fill port is spring loaded with a fairly strong spring and does not have a lock open feature for filling. Not a deal breaker, but a little inconvenient if filling from anything other than a metal dispenser nozel.

Work Well, No Spill
I was able to get a great price of $126 Canadian for the 5gal Type II with 1" hose. If you haven't tried these gas cans they are amazing and well worth the prize. With the traditional 5 gal plastic jug you end up pulling the spout out of the gas to position it for top pouring. As usually the spout will drip gas and leak around the funnel. With these gas cans you don't get your hands dirty. Simple tilt, insert and squeeze the handle. No over flow issues as you can release the handle as the tank fills. This is the 3rd one I have purchased to replace all my plastic jugs. These cans don't travel in the back of a pick up, they sit in my garage and are used to fill up the ski boat and lawn tractor. They are clean and easy to use.
