Excellent tool. I bought this to work on hard limestone rock to extract fossils. I did have to buy a bigger compressor, a 2.2CFM at 90PSI, 8 gallon capacity. It runs maybe every 90 seconds or so while using this tool turned up to 3-4. It’s been error free and I’ve used the same carbide tip for over a year now. It may not start impacting when I first turn it on, but you simply have to tap the tip on something ever so lightly and it will start up. The tool can be set from 1-5. I typically use it at 4 for heavy work, and 2 for more delicate situations.

My husband manages a dental lab and while I personally don’t know a single thing about this product he assures me that this price for this product is incredible. I asked him if it works and does what his higher ended /higher priced ones do and he said absolutely and that he’ll continue to only buy this one.

I waited with excitement to use this item but when I got it and hooked it up it just made lots of noise and air coming out of the tip of it but would not do anything. Tried many things and still the same thing. For such an expensive product i had much higher expectation and it shouldn’t been acting like this I have had much cheaper ones working way better. I have packed it for return. What a waste of time and a bad experience.

Just received mine, plugged it in to an airline.... NOTHING!!! Then a few moments later it started when the compressor kicked on only to stop after about 4 seconds of running. Can't get it started again, no clue. No trouble shooting info online I can find. It's Friday after CP has closed and I'm not a happy customer! Took the tool apart following the CP YouTube maintenance guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq2PmTtbzdg The piston to cylinder fit felt rough and a little too tight to me so I honed the piston a little using a drill to spin it and some 400 grit sand paper. After that it's been working pretty good, although I think it still seems a little too tight or rough as it still tends to stall, so I should probably hone it some more. The cylinder housing pin is difficult to remove as I had to clamp it to my welding table, shim all my supports so as to ensure that all the energy I applied to strike and remove the spring pin was applied effectively. It actually ought to hone itself in the cylinder, you'd think, if one could get it running for a while.
