I have a Corgi and anybody that has ever been around Corgis knows that they shed a TON!!! I used to use a regular dog grooming brush on him and even though it always had hair in it at the end of brushing him, I couldn't tell a difference with his shedding around the house. I even brushed him daily with no luck. I researched and Googled everything I could to try and find some sort of resolution. Everywhere I looked I kept seeing this Magic pro deshedding brush. I really didn't want to spend that much on a dog brush but at this point I was desperate! I broke down and bought the brush and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner!! This brush is AHHH-MAZING!! It not only gets out the shedding hair, it also gets out the undercoat (which my dog really seems to appreciate when he still has his winter coat and we have an extremely hot day here in the south!) I will actually have a pile of dog hair the same size as my dog when I'm done! I will say that the first few times that you use this brush, your dog might not like it because the teeth are so close together on the brush that it may pull a little more than their regular brush that they are used to. I found an easy fix for this. Lots of praise and love while brushing along with some treats!! This really only takes a couple of times though before they are used to it. I do not feel like it is pulling out their hair. It is just different from what they are used to. After a couple of times, my dog seemed to enjoy it. You do need to be mindful of the sharp edges on it though. You can't just press very hard because It may end up scratching your pooch. Just brush their hair like you would yours. Overall, this brush has been a lifesaver!!!

Update 2/7/17: I returned to buy this product for my mom's dogs. I've had it for over 2 years now and I still love it! Original price was $5 more than it is now listed and I would pay twice that and then some. One of my dogs, a Shepard pit mix, is especially charmed by this brush and runs with delight when she sees me take it out. She is a bit... fat... these days, so I need to work within her rolls and the brush is really great for that. I haven't had to replace the blade and I wash it with soap and water. Handle is still very comfortable and has not dried or chipped. I also use it every time we return from the woods and it takes out unattached ticks like magic. Love, love, love! Original review: I read through dozens of reviews before purchasing and I'm so, so glad I did. This brush is terrific! Does exactly what it says it will; decreased my dogs' shedding, improved their coats and made the experience of brushing relaxing and enjoyable, versus stressful and annoying (more an issue for me). It's become a routine for us now and the dogs sit patiently while I groom their coats. The brush has a durable handle and strong blade. Really well made product.

I have used the other brand names and decided to try this one. The prices seem to be somewhat disproportionate to the fact that this is a simple device. But, it may be harder to manufacture than I appreciate. So, in a cost saving mood, I decided to try this one. It is every bit as effective as the other brand. In fact, the handle and ergonomics are somewhat better. I do have one from the other company that has push button cleaning. I find that a rather nice but relatively useless option. Pushing the button gets the hair out of the brush, but you still have to wipe the brush clean of the hair. I prefer to simply pull the hair clean after each pass. That is just my preference. And, there is one from the other company that is curved. That is a nice option. But, this flat one is well tolerated and doesn't seem to pull as much. So, try this one. Cost effective, easy to use, and does the job.

I purchased this slicker brush based on high Amazon customer ratings. The reviewers were not wrong. This is a great slicker and it does a fantastic job. I have two Chow Chows and this is by far the best slicker I've found (we've tried about three different ones over the past decade). The slicker does an amazing job on our Chow puppy's wooly coat. It easily and painlessly removes mats and leaves the coat nice and fluffy. It is very comfortable to hold and the size is good. Our largest Chow weighs about 45 pounds and it works well on her coat too. Update to my original review. I just purchased another Pro Slicker Brush for Dogs after owning my previous one for two years. I decided it was time for a replacement as a few of the wire bristles had bent due to use and cleaning. I still think this is the best slicker available. It is comfortable to use and very effective for brushing double coated breeds. It really does loosen tangles and mats and doesn't cause my dogs any discomfort.

I never post reviews but feel compelled to post one for this dog brush because it's so great. I seriously considered buying the Furminator but couldn't stand that it was so expensive. Luckily I found this alternative and it has worked out fantastically. It removes SO much hair from our Great Dane that the first few days I had it, I was somewhat addicted to brushing him and seeing how much fur I could get off of him. Our Dane has short hair and this brush works great. It really works into the coat and removes the loose or dead hairs. I keep a plastic grocery sack next to me to collect the removed hair because there is so much. Don't worry about there not being a button to push to remove the hair from the comb. It's super easy to grab the hair and it all comes off of the comb in one strip and is easy to throw away. Best of all, the dogs (I also use it on our Boston Terrier but he sheds a lot less) LOVE to be brushed with this comb. While I'm combing one of them, the other one always sidles up and waits his turn. Highly recommend it!

Read a lot of reviews saying it worked great, and it did, for a regular brush. It gets a decent amount of loose hair out and I do like that it stays much cleaner than your average household brush. As for sheer fur removal power I was very underwhelmed. I have a great pyrenees mountain dog/ lab mix who sheds a LOT and I've been through the wringer with many different brushes and spending hours in the yard brushing off more hair than what I believed could even be on his body and could never significantly decrease the amount of hair that would end up on the furniture. When I came across this "deshedding" tool and its amazing reviews I thought I had finally won. As you can imagine my reaction when I opened it up and removed only a small neatly packed clot of hair after a couple stokes and had to pluck it out to continue. It IS a study tool that cleanly takes off hair, any length, and stays clean and comfortable for your dog. However do not be fooled by the "Deshedding" title of this tool as it is nothing more than a neat comb. If anyone recommends a better deshedding tool that will get the job done let me know!

I have 2 adult English Springer Spaniels who shed a lot of hair. This tool is amazing! For my first time using a deshedding tool it did take some time to tackle both dogs since this tool was pulling out dead hair by the handfuls! But both dogs seemed to ENJOY IT!!! This in itself is amazing since I have one that absolutely hates being brushed or groomed. But even she was very relaxed and cooperative the whole time! My dogs both looked amazing afterward! Shiny and smooth! It worked great on their long haired ears, heads, chest, backs and leg feathers. It is not sharp for the dogs, it's easy to handle and doesn't tire your hands or wrist. And it pulled out serious amounts of dead hair. 2 days later and they have less fly away hairs. I will be using this regularly!

My English Cocker Spaniel has very fine fur that mats easily. She also is sensitive to how our grooming time goes. Not one to endure long sessions at a groomer’s , so I do short sessions frequently. So happy she loves the feel of this slicker brush and lies back on the floor to feel itmassaging her skin. Very happy to be brushed and am amazed at all the undercoat the brush picks up. Also works great with mats, a slow and easy brushing which she tolerates well. Much better than trying to scissor cut the mats. Very pleased it has added to making our grooming times pleasant and productive.Will definitely be ordering again!! Thank you!

Good but smaller than I thought . Not sure if dimensions were stated. Really could use a bigger one but it does work inky takes more time.
