This alone will not hide fine lines or large pores. You would definitely have to use a pore minimizing primer prior to using this powder for a smooth look. I would suggest either Benefit Porefessional primer or Too Faced Poreless primer. You can use the translucent powder to top it off.

Can i use the translusent powder for brown skin?

While most brands claim translucent powder can work for every skin tone, Ive done some research on this and many makeup gurus or artists encourage to warm up deeper skin tones with a tinted pressed powder after applying the translucent powder. It depends on the tone of your skin of course, but this powder is very white so maybe a tinted powder on top or something would help. But apparently this translucent powder alone on darker skin is not recommended.
