Large AC Bracket

This bracket is made very well. It's super easy to install if you have basic mechanical knowledge of putting things together. The instructions show a few different scenarios of how to adjust the items together, but since this is so universal, it cannot show what your particular window A/C set-up will look like. The metal brackets are about 1/8 thick steel and can support a lot of weight although a majority of the weight is still on the window frame itself, this is just basically holding up the back end. Also, remember to adjust the bracket so that you have a couple degrees slant downward towards the back end of the unit. The object will be that your A/C will hold a certain amount of water in its bottom tray. This uses the water to help the cooling process, but if there is any overfill of water, you want it to drain outside, not into your room. All that being said, this bracket has several ways to position itself, and what I found most important was the middle brace so that the bottom arm is held in place and cannot slip downward. The hardware supplied is heavy duty and the screws that go down into the window sill and frame are about 3" long, going right into the wood frame and studs. There is no way this is going to slide away from the wall, just be sure to pre-drill your screw hole with about an 11/64 size drill bit to allow the screw to go that deep without cracking your wood. So, if your good at home projects this is all very do-able, If not, purchase the bracket and let someone else do the install.

We upgraded our AC unit to a bigger one. Our house is old and our windows are wooden. This bracket was just the thing to make the installation secure. Installation is easy. You install this and then the AC unit.

I researched all the a/c mounts/brackets and I decided to get this one. I got it late last year so I didn't have time to install it before winter. So I just installed it now and it could not have been the most perfect mount I ever used. It is very sturdy and VERY adjustable to almost any location you need to put this. The huge benefit if this product is the glass bubble level - you need to make sure it tips the a/c unit down a little at the rear so that the normal condensation that drips inside the unit will properly drain to the back of the a/c and out the rear little holes. Otherwise it will rust inside and possibly leak in your house. Just get this bracket and you will not be disappointed!

It’s holding up my AC pretty well and I think it’s pretty stable. While it took me a while to get the installation figured out once I did it was smooth sailing from there. Keep in mind you will need your own tools to get the job done however and I wasn’t expecting that.

The unit I received was loose in the box, as in individual screws and bolts rolling around and falling out when I opened the package, and some of the parts were scuffed up. The took package that came with it, holding the various other screws, bolts, and parts.. was missing the J and K sections.. they had already been torn out of the plastic and were not included.. I assume it was the wrench and allen tool that you needed to install it. Thankfully I was able to make due with some stuff I had here, even though I could not tighten anything down properly. It's a clunky and convoluted design but I think it will work. I just wish I had gotten the New item I paid for and not one someone sent back with only some of the parts and no instructions.

This product is great. It is a little finicky figuring out which combination of bolt placement works best, but once you have that figured out, you only have to screw it to a piece of wood that will fit on top of the window sill inside the window. I performed a rip cut on a 2 by 2 to make a 2 by 1 which I used. I recommend piloting holes and using screws that go all the way through and cutting them off on the other side with an angle grinder. It's a removable mount for a sixth the price of the mounts meant to be removable, so I can put my window unit in the window for a couple hours, then remove it.
