Well worth the money. Review: My saviour, mouse is away to the other side - Can’t praise this trap enough. Had initially used classic cheap snap traps but the mouse kept getting away with the bait every time. Got some of the more expensive ’Phantom’ snap traps from desertcart in the hope of catching him but again it took the bait without fail every night. It had the luck to take it from 4 of them in one night! I started to lose hope of getting this mouse myself and resorted to getting sticky traps. Again the mouse knew to avoid these and also continued to take the bait off other traps. For one final attempt I got one of these traps in the hope of catching it. Lo and behold within 3 hours of putting the trap out he was caught. A week of trying multiple other traps and it was sorted so quickly with this. Design wise I really like it. It’s pretty discreet as far as traps go. It’s well built and the caught indicator is very good. No more being anxious to keep checking the trap to see if anything was caught. Personally I didn’t empty the trap but my housemate said it was pretty easy and he didn’t have to touch the mouse. No mess at all and a bonus is he didn’t touch the bait so was able to immediately reset it and have it out again incase there is more than 1. I’m definitely holding on to this to use as a preventative measure. The other traps are going into the bin. Trust me the price is worth it. He did say he would review the rat trap later. **Q: Which way is it turned on?? i can't tell. one direction causes a green light for a second and the other way does nothing.** A: Slide the switch toward the opening where the mouse goes in and that's off. When you slide the switch away the opening the green light comes on to tell you that the batteries are good. The green light then goes out and it's ready to cook the mice. After there is a dead mouse inside the trap, the light will flash red every 10-20 seconds to tell you that the trap has been tripped. Slide the switch toward the opening and then open the trap and dispose of the mouse. **Q: Can you use it outside??** A: First off, yes, Mousetrap Monday has reviewed the rat version a year after the mouse one and likes it! - I've used that other trap with the purplish color and blue side labels. It's caught voles (who do come out at night and run along the house wall). When there was rain or a chance it would seep under the porch, I've just placed that other trap on some wood to get it off the concrete and out of reach of water. What I DON'T Like about that trap is that it's very difficult to bait as there is no "door" or easy way to access from the back on the bait side and you have to push through the peanut butter on the end of a 10 inch stick or attempt to drip it into the trap at an angle to get it to the final electrical pad that the rodent has to lick in order to set off the electricity. As time has gone by, that end of the trap is turning nasty as you have to roll a cloth or papertowel onto the end of a stick like a giant Q-Tip to wipe that end of the trap out. This one looks better designed and easy to use and clean out. Realised why when I caught sight of one of them. The entrance to the trap is too small.
