I like this one over the orange ones because it’s translucent enough that i can check my fuel level with a flashlight. - GAS-LOCK STRAP: The flexible nature of the fireSLEEVE body allowed us to create a strap that holds down the red button. This keeps the lighter on until you slide the strap off with your thumb. Use this when reaching into tight spots.
- WATERPROOF: When capped, the fireSLEEVE will float and is waterproof up to 3 ft. of water. The flexible body has a high-grip surface to keep it in your hand when it becomes wet.
- COMPATIBILITY: Works with any BIC Classic lighter (not included). Simply pull out the old one and slide in the new. A small dab of silicon grease can be used if necessary.
- SAFETY CAP: The cap not only keeps moisture out, but it also protects the red gas button from becoming accidentally depressed in your pack. When the lighter is in use, the cap can be stored on the bottom of the fireSLEEVE body.
- MADE IN THE USA: The body is molded from flexible TPE (similar to silicon). Due to its flexibility, the TPE body acts as a gasket around the circumference of the BIC lighter, sealing it off from moisture intrusion. **Q: is this case DOT approved for flying?**
A: Yes, I fly all the time. Not just domestically but even internationally, no issues with the exotac fire sleeve. Unless a lighter is banned from flights (some countries ban common lighters) just remove the lighter. Domestically no issues at all.

Buildings with security may ask you to open it to see what it is (many think it could be OC spray). Be sure to use 550 cord or something to secure the top to the bottom. Extotac should quit messing around and make a sleeve for the bic mini.

**Q: Does the Bic piezo electronic lighter fit in this case?**
A: It’s for standard bic. If you want an e-lighter get one in a case already.

**Q: Does the case prevent fuel from evaporating in hot weather?**
A: I've never had the fuel evaporate from a bic lighter, heat or no heat.  It usually happens from the button being inadvertently depressed while in your pocket, due to normal body movement. There is a sleeve on the case that can be pulled under the button to keep it from being depressed. That's how I use it and it has always worked for me. Hope that helps.

Works good and floats I had to put it to the test and it passed I tossed it into a bowl of water for 30 minutes and zero moisture inside or on lighter. This is a great product simple design but very functional, it has attachment points on both pieces so you could put a string or cord between the two and never lose the top or the bottom they’ll always stay together. The main rubber sleeve gives a good solid grip on your lighter and the hard plastic top keeps the functional parts protected and the blaze orange color makes it easy to find if you drop it. If you camp/hike and carry a bic pick yourself up one of these it’s well worth the money to know your lighter is protected will always work, floats and should be easy to find
