Love this bonnet!
Let’s face it - those with the most beautiful hair are always going to have to put a little more work into it. This helps me honor my curls and not drive myself crazy doing it. There is no miracle out there to get our best curls dried in a hurry, but this bonnet is the next best thing. I’ve tried it with and without the headband and prefer without. The chin strap does a fine job without me feeling choked once the air starts blowing. As an aside, if you were considering getting an adapter for your hairdryer and using it in the car, it works beautifully. Of course, not as the DRIVER because that could be unsafe, but as a passenger on a trip it would be a great time saver. Now if you did have a commute of say 40 minutes and you were inclined to give it a try (which of course, I would not recommend) you can position the bonnet over your ears so that your hearing is not impaired. And if you happened to stop for gas, you would certainly want to disconnect the bonnet from the hair dryer before attempting to exit your vehicle. If you failed to disconnect and yelp in surprise you may want to just pretend there is nothing going on and make a plan to only stop for gas on the way home from work. Not that I would recommend a driver use it to begin with. But it’s still a great bonnet.

The best substitute for an old product
I would have loved my old fashioned bonnet with the hair dryer. They just do not make them. This works just as well. The bonnet is easy to fit espeically if you are using large curlers. The hose attaches easily to the hair dryer and Voila - in business drying your hair. I have been using for a couple of months and it works quite well.

Comparing old and new bonnet dryer design
TLDR: It was worth buying once, I just wish i didn't have to buy it twice. Would still recommend it. I've had this bonnet dryer for three years, and — considering the price it lasted pretty well. Recently, it started falling apart and got a hole on the tube so i decided to buy a new one because, despite it being cheap, it worked well and got the job done. The new version of this products had some upgrades from the last one. Heres my pros and cons: Pros: much better dryer attachment; more adjustable to fit any size nozzle terry cloth lining around the head hole; doesnt get as hot on the forehead (but I still use the ear protecter wrap from the old bonnet dryer kit, i hope they keep including them because doubling up was a lot better. Better airflow; Dont need to turn my blowdryer up to high, and I had to rotate the old version to get an even dry. This seems to move air more universally, but still most concentrated at the top of the head Cons: - The chin strap is now necessary; the last version i could tuck it away, but with the new version, i think the airflow is a lot more powerful so it needs an anchor. Its pretty uncomfortable on the chin, so I'd recommend clipping it behind your head instead, still holds pretty well and is a lot more comfortable. - Same material as before, im sure it keeps the price low, but I think it will inevitably rip in a similar manner, just like the last one did. - headband strap is just dangling, not super annoying but I wish it had a snap or clip or something to put it out of the way Giving this four stars because I appreciate that they made upgrades to improve the product. it works well and is really compact. Its the reason my twist outs come out better than air drying and great for deep conditions. But taking off a star since its still kind of a flimsy material and I dont expect it to have longevity.

What a great, simple, and practical innovation!
To be clear, I only use the bonnet hooded dryer to apply heat during my deep conditioner treatments (hair masque, head covered in a plastic bag, and use bonnet dryer with medium heat for 15-30 minutes). I don’t use it to thoroughly dry my hair after washing (I air dry after washing). I have 4C hair that is relaxed. So now that I’ve established context, here is why I gave this product 5 stars: I absolutely love the portability of this soft bonnet hair dryer. I’ve always disliked the bulky at home table top hair dryers because storing them was so inconvenient. But with the soft bonnet hair dryer, I love how you can fold it, put it back in its little bag, and throw it in your luggage (when traveling) or store it in your bathroom drawer. I find it extremely practical that you only need to connect the soft bonnet hair dryer hose to a portal hand held blow dryer-this is another reason it’s great for travel. Most hotels have hand held blow dryers readily available to hook up the soft bonnet hair dryer. Lastly, I love how the bonnet adequately disperses heat over my plastic cap during my deep conditioner treatment. I use this bonnet dryer with my handheld dryer (the bonnet does not include a handheld blow dryer- you must purchase it separately if you don’t have one already). What a great, simple, and practical innovation!

I was worried this product wouldn't work but it's actually excellent and diffuses my (2C/3A) curly hair well. The chin strap is a little itchy and could be a softer material which is why I have detracted a star. I can only use it with my hairdryer on cold because otherwise it heats up too much and burns. But still works well! Takes about 45 minutes to dry my hair.

Drying my dreadlocks has become so much easier. Just make sure you towel dry the hair first. It’s easy and convenient and comes with an instruction manual that you can scan and read on your phone. I love it
