Gift to my grandson. He is so fascinated by snakes. He loves the pictures and learning about the differ snakes. Would recommend this book. Big hit with my 5yr old grandson.

Our 8 year old loved it, and I enjoyed reading it with him. Lots of cool snake info.

This book offers exciting, scientific information about snakes with a writing style that is appropriate and understandable for younger children, but challenging enough for grade-level readers. The photos were vibrant and portrayed the features and mannerisms of the different types of snakes. Our 5-year-old son listened actively through the whole book and asked questions - he loved it!

I have two daughters and a son and they all read this within the first couple of days we had it. The cover catches your eye and its an easy to read, informative book. Even though I am a Discovery, Nat. Geo. Wild junkie I was amazed by the number of interesting things I learned about a variety of snakes species. -Excellent formating, very well put together..looking forward to the other books in the series by this author

We learned a lot of new information on snakes and how they are classified, their different characteristics, and their anatomy. It was a really interesting book and I would say the most interesting fact we learned was how some snakes can "see" heat with the pits in their head that allow them to have infrared vision, how cool! The only reason I marked the book down one star is that we were expecting a lot more pictures of different snakes and I think the different categories of snakes could show more of the different species.

I love the straight and to-the-point nature of the information covered in this book. I know it's technically A Kids Book, but sometimes I just want facts, man! This book has lots of them and I appreciate that. I really feel that John appreciates snakes, as well as the rest of this so-called "Natural World", so I in turn appreciate learning by observing, with this book, his perspective. His individual understanding is partially gleanable in the totality of the information presented, as well as in the unique organizational structure of his presentation. I can't wait for the other titles; I love learning and I understand, and hope, that most kids do too. I'm very glad to see such a product offering. Let's be honest: we're pretty much all kids at heart, and the Natural World's environment within which we all live is profoundly powerful, important, and all-encompassing; why would anyone (of any age) NOT be interested in learning more about these amazing topics? This book is a great price and a quick download, both literally and figuratively; it is a tremendous value!

First off, this book is pretty good, well done. I had gotten this for my little cousin as I study herpetology and wanted to educate her on how snakes are not something to be feared, but respected. Also, how important they are to the ecosystems they inhabit. However, I have a few grievances that will hopefully be taken as constructive criticism: 1. Poisonous and venomous are not interchangeable, please, do not use them in place of one another. There are almost no examples of poisonous snakes, save snakes from the rhabdophis genus(keelbacks) and some heterodon(hognose) specimens. This is all due to their diet. 2. There was one point where the text just dropped off, as if there was a section that was not put in. This was in the section about pythons on page 32. 3. On that same page you had a picture with the caption: “This Burmese rock python hunts for monkeys at night.” That picture was of a ball python. Also you failed to mention that pythons also have large populations that live on the pacific islands such as Indonesia and Australia. Overall this is a good childrens book helping to educate people about snakes, I hope that you have success in the releases of your other books!

My 7 yo grandson likes snakes (nothing like me), so I bought this for him. He's all about learning more stuff and thought he would enjoy this book

My seven-year old son loves snakes and the book gives him plenty of info that he can understand.

Fine book.conservation status of snakes and antidotes should be updated. Their habitats and countries should be mentioned.prey types should be mentioned.

My granddaughter loves it and has read it from cover to cover.
