The box is large compared to the amount of product you get, yes. But, I though it was so your kid can store their creation in the the box or use the box in the crafting. Overall the product is fun for kids. My children love it. Its clean and easy to use without any real mess. I know some parents complained that there isn't enough pieces to make some of the larger items pictured, but the wax strings are not meant to be used to make the internal body of a dinosaur or a car, for example--use play dough for that, or buy a figurine and then you cover it with the wax to decorate it. If you bother to look at the suggestions or instructions, it pretty much tells you that.The waxy string is used as a covering for your kids creation - like wrapping them around a coffee can, or a shoe box, or paper mache or a figure. You can use them to decorate paper. Think of it more like paint without having the mess to clean up. I think over all you get quite a bit for the money and for the most part it can be reused for quite sometime, as long as you have a clean work area for your kid to create and play in. If you have your kids playing in pet hair, dirt, and dust, then yes likely the waxy string will get pet hair all over it and get dirty, but that's not a fault in the product. I don't normally leave reviews, but I think its important to review a product for what it does, and this product is great.

I purchased this big box of Wikki Stix for my son's 4th birthday. The are wax coated pieces of string that are 6 inches in length. This box comes with 13 different colors. My kids LOVE these and they keep them entertained for extended periods of time! I drew pictures (a flower, snowman, dog, shapes, letters, etc.) on papers and they use the wikki stix to cover the lines and create the images. They also use stick them together to build things. Wikki stix are the perfect thing to keep kids busy while waiting in restaurants or on a long trip. We love them! Yes, because they have a slight waxy feel to them, they will pick up dirt, hair etc. if you drop them in messy areas. Dirt/fuzz/hair can be picked off or if it's too dirty, there are so many wikki stix in this box, that you can just throw the really dirty ones away. Honestly, though, my kids have dropped them in restaurants and we have two dogs who shed a lot at home and ours are still very clean so they shouldn't get too dirty. These get played with often and we still have a whole box of extra sticks ready and waiting. They will last a LONG TIME! We are very happy with this purchase and our kids are too!

I cannot say enough good things about these! I am not a playdough fan, although I do allow my children to use it, as it makes a mess and once mixed you can't unmixed it.These, however, take care of both of those issues! There is no mess to clean up! The kids can play and then put them in bags and walk away. No picking playing out of the cracks of the flooring, table or carpet!The Stix can be mixed up! They can twirls them together, make a ball or a nice picture and the Stix will hold their shape and stick together but also easily come apart.They are reusable! They can play and put away for so much longer than playdough that the price is well worth it in the end.The can be used in dot to dots or on laminated pictures. We find pictures online, laminate them and then the kids can use the Stix to accent their pictures. When done they remove, put them in bags and we reuse the pictures another day.Will continue to use and buy, so I definitely recommend. These would also make great gifts or fun things to do at birthday parties.

I found these after a local restaurant passed them out to my kids instead of crayons. They were such a huge hit with my girls that I had to find more. Such a simple idea that entertains both my 2 (now 3) year old and 5 year old. My older daughter loves to create pictures. I now grab these and put some in sandwich bags instead of crayons when going out to dinner or for road trips. It does come with a nice box with plenty of stix.My only complaint is that the stickiness can get gross if left in the car or on the ground. It starts to collect hair, dirt, etc. and its time to go in the trash. The stickiness doesn't seem go onto other things so that's good. And it seems to last quite a while which is key to helping create things. I would recommend keeping a stash around if you have young kids.

We bought this Wikki Stix set for our 6 year old daughter prior to going on a trip. They kept her and her little sister (who is 3) occupied for the entire 2.5 hour flight. The toy's small size makes them perfect for traveling by air. The girls made all sorts of neat objects, animals and even people. We've been home from our trip for months now but the toy still holds our 6 year olds interest. Whenever she wakes up earlier than the rest of us or if she is asked to play with something quietly for a little while, the Wikki Stix is what she chooses. She has made some beautiful things with them and they certainly encourage her creativity. I don't really have any complaints about the toy, other than they do melt, if left in the hot sun which will cause a sticky mess in the car.

We discovered this at a restaurant where they were given in place of the typical crayons and coloring paper. We loved it so much that we bought a box of it for my daughter's birthday. We had kids ranging from 1 yr to 8 yrs old and everyone had a blast making their own creations. The mommies and daddies found their creative genes as well. Definitely a hit of the party. I've been asked about them from a couple of families post-party.Pros:- bendable- not messy- sticks on the wall and removes easily and without a markCons:- a bit sticky if your toddler mashes it all up in a ballWill purchase this again.

Wikki Stix are a favorite at our house. This was the most played with Christmas gift of the year. They are not very messy and help with the development fine motor skills. Activity ideas are endless! The box itself is an activity (decorate it), and it also comes with a booklet of ideas. You can make relief sculptures, make glasses, practice ABCs and counting, make jewelry, make Christmas ornaments, make window decorations, and the list goes on and on.The box comes with a wide variety of colors. The sticks can be used again and again without fail. I purchased this on sale for about fifteen dollars, but would definitely pay more for these.

I think Wiki stix are great. I buy them for my niece and nephews every year. I use them in my classroom and with the children I work with. But dang, they are NOT a good value. I'm pretty shocked at how little you get for the price. It's literally yarn dipped in wax, but they charge an arm and a leg for them. I'm starting to think that it's time to go back to pipe cleaners because I don't have to take out a second mortgage to afford those.

Our daughter is obsessed with these! She uses them to make little figurines, leashes for her stuffed animals, bracelets, you name it! What a cool eco friendly toy to encourage imaginative thinking!

Amazing. My boys 9 and 7 keep saying how awesome these are. So neat seeing them create things. They even decorated the box with the sticks. Highly recommend for kids who loves being artistic and creating things. Good for kids who need to keep busy.

Absolutely love what u can do with it. My 3yo uses it to create alphabets.
