Got this to use with my blackstone griddle. I have some official blackstone turners and wow what a night and day different in terms of quality. This Mercer turner is sturdy and definitely meant to last. I can smash a burger patty without worrying about bending the metal. My blackstone turners are flimsy and if I tried to smash a patty the metal would definitely bend at the handle. The edges are beveled making getting under the food much easier. I’ve had no issue handling the turner in high heat. Just a great turner for griddle use. Obviously you get what you pay for. These Mercer turners aren’t cheap but I can see them lasting a lifetime. I plan to get other variations to complete my griddle tool set. Definitely recommend. Update: added to my collection and bought the grill scraper. Very sturdy with no flex what so ever. The scraping edge has a nice bevel to it. Not obvious in the product pictures but the scraping edge is not squared, instead it has a slight angle to it. I initially thought the scraper was defective until i searched for pictures online and it appears the angle is purposely made...perhaps it helps to scrape better?

I purchased three (3) other hamburger flippers trying to find something cheaper than this Mercer Hell's Handle Turner/Spatula and ended up sending them all back and then biting the bullet and paying $33.71 for this 5x4 flipper. ••• PERFECT SIZE ••• The 5x4 is the perfect size turner/flipper/spatula for burners, chicken breasts and fish fillets. The 6x5 is too big! ••• Heavy Duty ••• This Mercer Culinary flipper is HEAVY DUTY and built to last. The spatula is solid and sturdy, it's doesn't flex or bend and is perfect for smashing or flatting burger patties. I've tried three others and 2 out of the 3 others flexed way too much ... the one that was solid had a poor wooden handle. ••• Handle ••• One of the main reasons I choose to pay more and buy this burger flipper was because of the handle. I did find another Heavy Duty burner flipper that was half the price and really sturdy and solid but the handle was made of wood and poorly finished and attached. This Mercer Culinary flipper is built to last. The handle is a heat resistant, molded silicone rubber compound that won't shrink, swell, chip, splinter or degrade. The handle is smooth throughout and there are no rivets to protrude or loosen like the other spatula. ••• Recommendation ••• I highly recommend this Mercer Culinary flipper and would suggest the 5x4 size. YES this flipper is expensive however it's built to last and if you take care of it, it will last a lifetime! FYI: If you want a good burger flipper/smasher and just can't justify the $33.71 expense of this one ... I would suggest you take a look at the Outset Heavy Duty Grill Spatula also here on Amazon. It is only $18.99 and the metal flipper part is also heavy duty and made well. I personally didn't like the wooden handle but if that doesn't bother you it's a great, lower cost option.
