I like the product. I just don't like this company. This was the first time using this company. It will be my last. I ordered 12 packets. When I opened the box, one was missing.

I bought the Natural Highlights henna hair dye, this brands 100% pure henna option ( watch out, other color options from this brand contain metallic salts and are not pure henna, always read the ingredients.). My hair came out gorgeous! I have light auburn hair naturally, but my red color is rather muted and I wanted to intensify it, so I thought I would try henna. best decision ever! I I used a hibiscus tea instead of plain water with this henna to help intensify the red, and let it sit for about 4 hours. It came out a beautiful shade of red that looks natural; and my hair is smooth, shiny, and smells super earthy and amazing! I will 100% be using this again. I am highly allergic to the typical chemicals used in most hair dyes. My first exposure to "black henna" caused a reaction so serious that I had to go to the doctor who put me under a hormone treatment for a month to cure the immense skin response. I have previously used the Natural Highlights version with no irritation at all, natural henna is safe for me. Although the Natural Highlights version was safe, the color was far more red than I had hoped; the recommended system of using brewed coffee to change to brown did not work. So, I ordered the brown version. The color is on the mark. The PROBLEM is that I didn't read the ingredients list nor do a skin test - I trusted the manufacturer as I had used their products before.. Bad mistake. All the modified colors outside natural henna use chemicals and I've had my typical huge skin reaction - almost a chemical burn-level response. Puss dripping out of my skin and down the hair follicles. My skin puffs up to a red blotch. You can't even touch the hair, the skin turns that sensitive. It'll heal, as it did before, but it'll take weeks of dealing with itching, redness and soreness. I know that I am certainly outside the norm (the doctors who treated me the first time were all shocked at what they saw, taking pictures of my condition!) but those with sensitive skin need to know. So if you are looking for, or need, natural or non-reactive hair coloring stay AWAY from all the colors beyond the Natural Highlights version!!!
