Use your fingers to get a good grip on the wheel and wind back up to reel in your catch. Can be used as like a metal yoyo fishing reel where you tie it to a branch spring loaded to set the hook for you, can be a back up if your fishing pole breaks, could be attached to a bow for bow fishing , although you would have to change out the line for something suitable , fashion an emergency reel if you have the know how. I would definitely buy it again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well thought out hand reel at a fair price! *by A***R on 22 June 2018* I am so pleased with my innitial assesment of the reel, all of the holes have had their edges rounded including the small “set and forget” holes on the edge of the reel. The edges of the reel are butter smooth which will make casting easier and more effective. The little tackle bag includes 6 weights (2 sinkers of 3 different sizes), 12 hooks (4 of 3 different sizes), and 4 barrel swivels. The tackle bag easily fits with the reel in the bag. (I took the picture next to a US quarter for size comparison, obviously the quarter was not included with the reel. ) I can absolutly see and appreciate the care and thought that the creators put into this reel and kit. It is so rare that you see a product that was not rushed to market or built to a price, but instead carefully thought out, made to high standards, and and sold for a price that is fair to both producer and customer. I really just wanted something I could easily keep in my bag so I didn’t have to keep a fragile pole in my car all the time if i just wanted to make an impromptu trip to one of the local town ponds after work, and I didn’t want to have to bring a tackle box or bag of tackle that I would have to tote around or leave on the ground while fishing. This is a great way to restrict yourself to the essentials so you can fish more and plan and pack less.
