The length must vary as the one I have is approximately 3.5" long. Definitely, not 4". I have it mounted in an insulated oven door so I couldn't get an exact measurement.

We mounted ours with a few self tapping metal screws directly onto the door of our wood fired outdoor oven. Hope this helps.

Can i uses for my wood fired oven?

Of course; it´s an excellent thermometer for a woodfired oven! I´ve mounted it into the oven wall over the door, in which I drilled a hole for the sensor shaft to reach the interior, and fastened the flange with screws.
