Complete installation kit for the Eclipse series. The MDV (mixing degas valve) is part of this upgraded installation kit for in ground pool ozone systems. Improve disinfection performance at the same time you eliminate corrosion potential from off gassing in enclosed spaces, including under pool covers.

Works well, but feed / return positioning is critical
When I first installed my ozone system I got the injector style that just pulls air/ozone into the stream. This resulted in way more flow than was required to feed the low volume of ozone being generated, and I ended up with my pool returns constantly burping large quantities of air/ozone. I bought this system to eliminate the annoying burping. The system seems to work well (it removes 100% of the bubbles... hopefully some ozone is still dissolving in the water before the bubbles are removed!), but I did have to re-plumb it once to get it functioning correctly. I originally had the feed and return lines plumbed close to either side of the variable flow check valve they supplied (in my attached photo you can see the "T" I had to cap off after I moved the return). I plumbed it this way because I wanted to run the output of the ozone injector into my UV sterilizer (UV and ozone acting together gives better results than the two systems working independently), and there wasn't enough physical plumbing between my filter and my UV system to do it any other way. Unfortunately, the variable rate check valve they supply doesn't create enough pressure differential on its own, so at higher pump speeds (I use variable speed pumps), there was too much back pressure on the return, and the venturi actually spewed water out instead of sucking air in. After I moved the return further downstream in my plumbing (i.e. less back pressure after it), the venturi started working as it's supposed to.Their documentation suggested a ball valve (supplied with the system) could be required on the return line to adjust the water height in the chamber under different pump speeds, but in my setup the chamber stays full of water at all pump speeds, so I leave the valve completely open. One other note... the instructions suggest an optional ball valve (not included in the box) can be installed on the feed line to drain the chamber for maintenance. I plumbed one into my system (the black valve in my picture), only to realize that putting it on the feed line as they suggest doesn't really work. If you open this valve the chamber will only drain to the level of the PVC emitter inside the chamber (i.e. about 2/3 of total water drains). While the valve I plumbed will allow me to drain water from the feed PVC pipe, if you want to drain the entire mix chamber you really need to put a drain valve on the return side, since the return port in the mix chamber is at the very bottom. If your setup is above pool water level you may not have this issue since the return line will tend to drain to the pool on its own.I knocked one star off the rating due to their documentation. I think they could have done a better job of explaining that their variable rate check valve doesn't generate sufficient pressure differential on its own if any other pool hardware is after it in the plumbing, and their suggested position for the drain valve is just plain wrong if you're trying to get all the water out of the chamber. But aside from my nagging concern that this degas unit might be dumping all my ozone before it gets absorbed into the water, I do like the system. Hopefully whoever engineered this device did lab testing to ensure that the ozone spends enough time in the water to get absorbed.

A Great Option For Pools Using Ozone Units
This is a great option every pool owner who is using ozone, and not just Del units, should seriously consider and purchase if possible. I've enjoyed using the perks of using a Del Ozone unit for 10 years now and finally decided to purchase this MDV (mixing de gas vessel) for my pool. Mostly because I have a white fiberglass pool with a Hayward ColorLogic led light and the small bubbles containing the ozone that were coming back into the pool kinda clouded the crystal clear water at night. And this Del MDV unit will also eliminate the billowing that happens when the solar cover in on the pool caused by the ozone gas bubbles returning to the pool by the return jets. And not just stopping the billowing, it will also make your solar and automatic pool covers last alot longer because they won't be exposed to the direct ozone gas.

Just doesn't reduce need for chlorine
The product simply did not work for me. After dealing with the tech Support at C-M-P for weeks, we got it seemingly working. But it has failed to reduce my need for chlorine. The attempt to return it has turned into a major run-around, with the manufacturer saying they can't help. Don't buy this product through Amazon, or don't buy it at all
