My mother bought me this bar shampoo because she has seen a big increase in her hair. I have used it about a month, went to my hairdresser who I have had about 20 years and she told me she has never seen me with as much hair as I currently have! Winning! It smells good and provides a great sudsing!

I posted a review of this product only giving it 3 stars. Reason behind it was because it left my hair feeling like there was this residue clinging to it. On second thought after getting my hair cut from shoulder length to a pixie cut. I gave the product another try. I also don't like wasting things either. Pros: it lathers up really well. Surprisingly well. The smell I would describe it as pleasant kind of herbally. But not over powering. Seems to help with the itchy scalp from dandruff and I haven't noticed any flakes. Cons: Don't see any improvement on the help keeping your hair. That's why I cut my hair because I grew tired of my hair falling out. Still has that residue feel on my hair but I will say this it's not as bad as before when I had my hair shoulder length. I would stand under the water for a while trying to make sure it was all rinsed out. But now I have short hair and rinsed as thoroughly as I can. And it's now dry my hair. I can say it is a lot softer and doesn't feel like I left any soap behind. So probably works best for shorter hair IMO.

I love love LOVE this shampoo bar!!! From the 1st use I had no issues with it. My hair's really loving the ingredients and I see the difference in my thickness, texture and curls since I began using it over a month ago. Every wash day is a luxurious experience because it doesn't take much to get a thick, rich lather. I haven't even used 1/8 of the bar yet and I've used it every week, two washes each week, for over 6 weeks now. I'm sure this will probably last me a year before I have to get another one. And I'm definitely getting another! This is now a staple product. Even when I clarify, I use this immediately afterwards and it leaves my hair clean but not stripped. Amazing product!

My fiancé and I like it. Liquid shampoo breaks his scalp out and would cause him to not be able to wash his hair regularly. With this bar he has been able to wash his hair every single day with no issues. We like the smell too. Now we just need to incorporate an ACV rinse because we have well water!

Kinda expensive but smells so good and feels great. It makes my hair feel really healthy and has been helping turn my waves into curls. Only downside is the soap is always in and out of stock.

I so wanted to like this shampoo bar, but the bar leaves my hair feeling like it has some type of residue or wax on it. I went to the Chagrin Valley website to learn more about their soap bars. According to their website replies if the hair feels waxy that perhaps you have hard water and that you should be rinsing your hair with ACV, or that this particular soap bar is not good for your hair. They suggest trying another one of their soap bars. Well, I have taken care of a the hard water by placing a filter on my shower, and I have been rinsing my hair with ACV, but I still get the same waxy residue feeling on the hair. When I try to run my fingers through my hair, they get tangled in it because of the residue. Additionally, the hair feels dry and scratchy. My hair feels like you’re touching hay. It is not silky, smooth, or soft. I have attached a picture Oddly, the scalp feels squeaky clean and the hair is full of body and bounce. I do like these features. I stopped blow drying my hair and using hot curling iron tools. So the bounce and body comes from the shampoo bar. Lastly, the bar lathers up really nice, and it has a pleasant smell to it. I’m going to continue using it and see if there’s any change to my hair. If there is a change I will come back and give an update. If I continue to get the same results, I am just going to go back to Kitsch’s rice soap bar. With Kitsch’s, my hair does not feel like this. On the contrary it is smooth, soft, and silky, shiny. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping the Chagrin Valley Ayurvedic shampoo bar works for me, I really want to love it like so many others.

soap is never meant to be used as shampoo. Period. I tried several, hoping I could move away from liquid shampoo. No matter which brand, they always left a film, that easily turned my hair greasy, as well as my brush covered with a white coating. No, I am not going to do that extra step with rinsing with a vinegar wash - irritating to the skin. The surprising thing that occurred, was that it made the skin on my EARS breakout! Who would have thunk!
