I bought this more out of curiosity than anything, but l love the flavor. I used to sweeten the heck out of my tea because of bitter taste (and I bought decent quality tea) but the yaupon is not bitter at all.

The tea is okay but more of a green tea. Steeped for quite awhile. Mild flavor.

I just had my first cup of the Marfa Black Yaupon tea. What a surprise to know that the yaupon trees that grow wild on my property could produce such a flavorful cup of tea. Marfa black tea is very dark in the cup and has a very rich flavor. It is the equal of imported tea.

It tastes good but it's not a whole lot of flavor compared to other black teas. I find myself adding lots of honey to really get any flavor in my tea.

Don't understand the bad reviews for weakness of the tea... It's lost leaf, use as much as you like to get the strength and flavor you like. Sure, it's not as aromatic as some hight quality teas but it's a totally different kind of plant, doing it's own thing, growing wild in USA. I think it's super cool. Plan to transition myself to Yaupon and wean off all the imported teas as my stock runs out. For a black tea replacement this particular roast is probably my favorite lose leaf Yaupon I've tried so far, I like their Maple roast too.

I was so excited to try this tea, given that I had read a "BBC" article about the re-discovery of this "lost" American tea. I bought this and had friends over to try it out: all agreed it was a disappointment. It's a pale color (even this black tea that I had bought!), and didn't taste well plain, with added honey, or added sugar. The best comparison that I can give is that it's like cheap, hotel tea. This is not worth the price and in the end I threw it out. I don't often leave bad reviews, but if you are a tea aficionado, this is just not worth it.

This tea is delicious. I have been cold brewing it. It has a sweet, fresh taste not sugar or sweetener needed. Great for all day enjoyment b

I bought this thinking I could drink this instead of coffee. I think a coffee person, like me, would have to brew the entire package at once to get the caffeine we love. It is nice to know that I can start saving the trimmings from my Yaupons now. Buy it to support local green Texas entrepreneurs. I will save it for my real "Tea Sipping" friends.
