how many cups or sticks of butter can it do at a time? Also, does the more cream you put, the longer your churn or is always 10 mins? thanks

2 cups heavy cream yields 1 stick of butter. It didnt take full 10 minutes. Grandkids loved taking turns turning the butter. I didnt try making larger batch...we just followed instructions that came with the churn.

Are there any plastic components?

I own two of these units. The paddle appears to be a hard silicone type material. The turning gear is all metal. Very heavy duty Churner.

Can I use store bought 'ultra pasteurized' heavy cream? I can't ever find non 'ultra pasteurized'.

I just use plain heavy whipping cream...will check for heavy cream and try it

Is it true 1 quart (32 oz) of whipping cream makes approx. 3-4 sticks of butter? I pay approx.$5 per quart at our chain grocery store. Is it worth it?

Not with store bought heavy cream.Check the ingredients on your butter:"Cream, salt." Here is Land o Lakes cream:Heavy Cream, Skim Milk, Contains Less than 1% ofEach of the Following: Mono and Diglycerides, Polysorbate 80,Carrageenan." That's typical of all of them. "Who knows what's in butter?" People who can read. Now if you can get fresh cream from a local farmer or dairy maybe, but I really think your time would be better spent making other things from scratch(Bread,pickles,preserves,etc).
