Muc-Off eBike All-Weather Chain Lube, 250ml

Used all sorts of chain lubes over the years. I find this works decently as a cleaner if you soak a long wide section of a clean microfibre and backpedal in a thorough hard scrubbing motion. You’d be surprised how much comes off even when the chain looks clean. Then I do the same on another clean section of cloth, surrounding the whole chain, but this time letting it lightly drag through the lube. I’ve ran about 5000 miles on my eMTB, and I get brilliant life out of my drivetrain. I believe it’s better doing it this way, I feel it’s really hard to truly completely clean, and completely remove the solvent and relubricate while the chain is on the bike. This is a great next best option in my opinion.

I’ve been using this Muc-Off e-bike chain lube for about a month now, and it’s definitely better than the generic stuff I was using before. Application is simple—the nozzle gives a clean stream, so you’re not wasting half the bottle spraying the frame. The liquid itself spreads evenly along the links and doesn’t just drip off, which makes it feel like it’s actually coating properly. After letting it set overnight, the chain runs smooth and quiet the next day. Performance in different weather has been good overall. I’ve ridden through dry commutes and a couple of soaking wet days, and the chain didn’t immediately start squeaking or rusting afterwards. It seems to cling well, giving confidence that it’s formulated for the higher torque and strain that e-bikes put on drivetrains. The drivetrain feels a bit snappier, and shifting under load is smoother too. Another plus is that it doesn’t turn into a sticky mess. Some lubes attract every bit of grit on the road, but this one stays reasonably clean—just a light film that wipes down easily when you reapply. The bottle size (250ml) is generous as well, should last a good while even with regular use. And the branding, like most Muc-Off stuff, is clear and easy to spot in the workshop, so you don’t mix it up with cleaners or sprays. That said, a couple of gripes keep it from being perfect. First, the smell is quite strong, more chemical than some other lubes I’ve tried. It lingers for a bit after application, so definitely one to use in a ventilated space. Second, while it performs well in rain, after one really muddy off-road ride the chain did dry out quicker than I expected—I had to reapply sooner than I’d hoped. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you ride a lot in harsher conditions. Overall, this chain lube works as advertised: easy to apply, lasts well for most rides, and keeps the drivetrain smooth and quiet. A little more resilient in mud would’ve pushed it to five stars, but as an all-weather option it’s still a solid choice and does a better job than the majority of basic lubes out there.

J'ai acheté ce lubrifiant pour la chaîne de mon vélo électrique, c'est facile et rapide et la chaîne est lubrifiée et pas seulement en surface, le changement de vitesse est facilité sans faire de bruits. Je recommande ce lubrifiant, le prix est un peu élevé mais c'est de la qualité et surtout efficace par tous les temps

Wird schnell geliefert. Die Dose ist nicht so groß und nimmt nicht zu viel Platz weg Ideal. Sobald man dieses Öl auf die Kette aufgetragen hat, merkt man das beim schalten sofort. Die Gänge lassen sich viel flüssiger und ohne ruckeln durch schalten, wenn die Gangschaltung gut eingestellt ist. Man sollte aber nicht so viel auftragen das ist eher kontraproduktiv produktiv wie ich festgestellt habe.

Ich bin mit dem Kettenöl für E-Bikes bestens zufrieden. Nachdem ich mein Kette gründlich gereinigt, entfettet und getrocknet habe, hab ich das neue Kettenöl einzeln auf jedes Glied aufgetragen. Es verteilt sich sehr gut und kriecht schnell und zuverlässig in die Verbindungen. Als "All Weather" Lösung ist es vor allem für die Alltagsfahrer geeignet, da man wenig Wartung und Aufwand hat und sich keinen Kopf darüber machen muss. Ob diese "besondere Mischung" tatsächlich weitere Vorteile für E-Bikes und die damit hohen Drehmomente und Lasten auf die Kette mit sich bringt kann ich nicht abschließend sagen, aber auf jeden Fall gehört es zu den sehr hochwertigen und universellen Kettenölen und hat damit jetzt einen festen Platz in meiner Werkstatt und auf meiner Kette.
