I have been using this for years it’s a great shaving soap

After a 40 year hiatus from what the younger generation is calling DE (Double Edge) shaving (we simply called it "shaving" back in the day) I got fed up with expensive multi-blade razors that gave sub-standard results. I purchased a razor, blades, brush, and Lather & Wood Barbershop shave soap. Thankfully the local drugstore carried Pinaud-Clubman aftershave to wrap up the full experience. I've been using for two weeks and after moving up the learning curve, meaning learning to take time to load the brush and then don't add too much water, I'm now getting consistent rich lather. I start by dripping some water onto the soap to let it bloom, then use the bloom-water to moisten my face before applying the lather. It stays full and moist for follow-up passes. The scent is a very mild one and goes right along with a splash of Clubman. After 2 weeks there is only a slight concave in the soap, so it appears that a tin will last quite some time. Also nice that Morgan from L&W contacts customers to follow-up on delivery and product satisfaction, and also to pass along tips. I just snagged a 1966 Gillette Super Speed razor just like the one I started shaving with to take me back in time. L&W Barbershop - very nice product with great mild scent and at an attractive price. Update 2/2/17 Over the past 5 months I've tried several artisan soaps, but this is one I keep going back to. It lathers very well, provides a smooth shave over Cremo and Proraso pre-shave and has a very nice mild scent. On two recent trips I face-lathered rather than use a coffee cup, and this face-lathers very well. The matching after-shave moisturizer, that L&W sent as a gift, is an added bonus.

The closest smoothest shave with no cuts for the first time ever. The scent is amazing and stays for a long time.

WOW! This brand of shave soap is the best I’ve ever tried. I’ve gotten two different scents(emerald grove and barbershop) they both smell exquisite and the lather is unmatched. The tallow base combined with my badger hair brush makes for a perfect lather. I shave my entire head at least every other day and a can lasted me over a year. I repurchased to try the barbershop scent and it was the best shave experience over ever had.
