Dose it work on jet black hair. As in truly fully black hair that also thic. Will purple show up to be noticeable?

I died my hair black recently. I use the purple on it and you could see it inside but in the sun it was bright! Like a bright eggplant purple

Can i sleep with the color on?

Slept in it and was super surprised that nothing came off. Nothing on my pillow case or bed. Was still super vibrant and colorful too
