Can this be powered with a Modified Sine Wave inverter ?

Trust the manufacturer on this question. I am using one of these right now with an old Trace SW2512 inverter. Works like a champ!

If power goes out while charging, will it automatically start charging when power is restored

It should automatically start charging. It remembers the last setting you had it on the last time it was charging.

What's the difference between the noco genius gen5x1 (this product) and the noco genius5 charger? how should i choose between them?

The GEN5X1 is an onboard battery charger/maintainer model for 12V batteries that connects to the battery via eyelets. The GENIUS5 is a multi-purpose battery charger/maintainer model for 12V and 6V batteries that comes with a clamp and integrated eyelet combo cable.

Do i have to turn this charger on everytime its plugged in or will it charge when it's plugged in?

When plugged-in, the charger is in Standby Mode. Use the Mode Button to select the appropriate mode to begin charging. After each consecutive use, the charger remembers the last selected charge mode.
