The pack of 3 that I bought does not have a black gasket inside like the picture, why not? Will this cause leakage?

I believe the gasket is on the inside of the neck of these filters

Does it remove iron and manganese? I have hard water and although I have a softening system there is still discoloration from high iron and manganese.
