A great solution
This cane was perfect for my trip to an amusement park. I have had multiple hip & knee surgeries so standing for long periods of time causes pain in my hip, knees as well as my lower back. This cane allowed me to quickly sit & stand as needed. The buttons to open & close are very convenient & makes the process nearly unnoticeable. I am self conscious of having to use assistant devices as I am only in my late 30's so not being extremely apparent is important to me. The cane as-is was too tall for me (I'm 5'1"), so upon receipt, I was able to pop the bottom footing off & cut the cane to size with a hacksaw. It worked perfect. I cut it so that it was just about the correct height to use as a cane (only the slightest bit taller than my normal cane) & it made it the perfect height when I put the seat down. I recommend cutting it in small increments so that you dont cut it too short the first time around! I almost did! I also love that the cane folds up so that I could put it away when I was on rides or whenever I felt it was getting in the way. My only complaint is that after using it as a cane for an entire day, it was sore on the palm of my hand. I would like to see the top part slightly cushioned. It's definitely not the same comfort as using my regular cane which is specifically made with a comfortable grip...but given the fact that this cane solved 2 problems for me - walking & sitting - I was very very pleased with it. The other "seat canes" I looked at had 3 legs & looked cumbersome & uncomfortable to use as a cane. I was also worried that being a woman, I would have to sit with the middle bar in between my legs. I was also concerned it would put me a lot shorter than everyone else standing...which can make for difficult conversation. This cane means you are still on your feet but putting most of your weight on the cane. It takes the pressure off your legs & back...but not 100%. That was ok with me though. After a ride, I was able to find a proper seat when needed. I was a bit worried that I would feel unsteady on it but I didn't at all. I always made sure not to have it pointing in the direction of others (particularly little kids) as I was worried that they could knock it accidentally & I'd fall to the floor. I tended to have my husband stand behind me when I was sat on it or had it up against a wall. I will definitely be using this cane again...especially at times when I know I'll be waiting in lines.

Ingenious product!
Works as advertised, doubles as cane and seat. Not exactly a seat, but turns you into a tripod with your legs being the other two to balance. Nice light weight, one pound, folds and unfolds easily into pouch. The only downside is that the seat is hard plastic, a material with some give would be better. They should be looking at light bike seat materials, though a better seat that might raise the price. Works for me, try it and return if it doesn't work for you. I'm medium height, if you are short you may need it to be cut by company, if you are tall get the taller version.

It's wonderful and I love that it fits in my fanny pack
It's a very nice seat to take a quick break on, nice and durable, extremely light weight and extremely easy to use and then put back away and I love it that it fits in my fanny pack so I will always have it with me. And I glued a cushion onto the seat using a soft kneeling pad. I cut the kneeling pad to fit the seat and I matched up the kneeling pads handle with the flipsticks handle. Then I put a small finger sized hole through the pad so I can still push the button to put the seat in the cane position. Then I glued the seat to the pad with scotch super 77 spray adhesive and then I waited over night for it to dry and now this flipstick is much more comfortable to sit on and it still fits in my fanny pack. And my fanny pack that I carry it in is the large pouch from the Propper U.C. 2 Pack Assault Kit, which I have attached to my Mystery Ranch Hip Monkey. Awesome product.

Best purchase for my arthritic hip ever!
Awesome! I took this with me on a recent trip to Montreal and Quebec City and it was invaluable in museums. I have arthritis in my hip and need to rest every once in a while, but often there is no bench or chair available. We searched high and low before we left for regular chairs and stools, but they were all too heavy and bulky. It's very sturdy and not wobbly at all, as it creates a strong tripod with your two legs. It unfolded quickly and easily and I used the carrying case for my phone and wallet, too. Very light! It's also unobtrusive, so most people think you're standing, and they get very curious when they realize you're not!

Not really a seat
Cane use is OK, but seat is not stable, you are only able to lean on seat, not really sit on it.

Only one flaw
I've been using the Flipstick for many years, every now and then losing and replacing one. The product is wonderful, but unfortunately is no longer sold in stores โ liability fears. That means I have no way of knowing whether the button is flush against the seat. When it isn't flush, you can't rest the stick upside down on its seat because it's too wobbly. Why rest it upside down? When you are sitting for a while, for example while the docent stops next to a chair for a few minutes. It's more convenient than folding it up. Only one of the several I've owned had a flush button. Other than that small flaw the seat is wonderful for anyone whose back objects to standing for too long.

Wonderful help bad knees
I had a trip to London and was worried about walking and going up and down stairs in the tube as I have bad knees. This was a great help as it gave me a lot of stability on the uneven streets and sidewalks and even in navigating the stairs in the tube (lots of them!) It also was great that I could sit and rest while waiting for the bus or tube or even when I visited a few small museums and got tired. A side benefit was that people were more patient with me as they thought I was handicapped (which in many ways, I am as I could not walk fast at all) and did not mind that I walked slowly or climbed up stairs slowly. I highly recommend this if you have problems walking because of arthritis of your knees and ankles

Not as good as it looks
Decent cane, but I had bought it mainly for the seat as I have trouble standing/ walking for long periods. The seat is not stable, and works basically to lean on, so you don't get much relief.
