Pretty easy to use and set up. I used the thread lock and let it sit for maybe 2 hours and it’s fine. ( Do at your own risk ) Only thing I don’t like after looking others up is there isn’t a side hook to let it drag across the bottom of the water source. Rather, with the hook on top it drags at an angle.

If you are interested in fishing for rusty nails, this is a great product. If you'd like to pull up anything more substantial, they are terrible. I watched smaller pocket knives fall off as they are lifted out of the water. Sure, they are cheap, but they don't do much other than pull rusty nails and even those are relatively easy to brush off. I can feel the magnet stick to larger objects and then any pull pressure what-so-ever pulls them off. I have several much larger magnets. I bought these because I forgot my magnets at home while on vacation and just wanted something to play around. They aren't worth playing around.

I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I have looked it over. The magnet has a good lock on metal items, found out accidentally while looking at it. The magnet pulled a wrench I had on the bench and locked on. About 6 inches away, the gloves stretch enough so I can put them on my hands comfortably, and it appear to be a good quality, especially for a beginner or secondary magnet kit.

I got 2, one for my husband and one for my son. They love to fish, and after meeting some magnet fisherman at our local lake, they wanted to try it. It's been so fun. Case is helpful as is the hook. Perfect

Got this as a holiday present for my son. We used it for the first time yesterday and we were disappointed to find one of carabiners was rusted when we opened the box. Then when we used it the magnet seemed very weak. The listing claims it can lift 700 lbs. I doubt if it could lift more than 1-2 lbs. it was able to lift a broken sunglass arm and some tiny shreds of metal but everything larger remained stuck at the bottom of the pond. We could feel the magnet sticking snd then easily giving way. Even in combination with the grappling hook we were not able to pull up any objects larger than the ear piece of a broken pair of sunglasses. Very disappointing.
