I purchased this for detox with my Infrared Sauna. I've been reading quite a bit about this procedure that it creates a flush then a dilation of the blood vessels. That in conjunction with exercise, sauna, or hot tub, brings about a very deep sweat detoxification. I will attest that this is indeed a very good B3 (Niacin) because I was reading that you should start with 100 to 200 mg, and I went with 100 mg which brought about a very uncomfortable flush. True to a great deal of what I read, the flush came with in 10 minutes (for me) and it was like I was on fire! I then got into an already heated Sauna for 25 minutes and was able to sweat faster and quite a bit more then I usually do. I'm a *hard* sweater, takes a while and I mean sometimes its annoying, I can sit in a sauna that is 135 and I still won't sweat until it reaches approximately 145, then I start to feel sweat droplets trying to form. By the time it reaches 150 - 155 I'm sweating in a good way, but with the Niacin, I was already sweating with the temps in the 130's, so this is good for me. I sauna approximately 1 to 2 times a week, so that's as much as I will use Niacin, and from my research, that's within the minimum guidelines. Apparently, your body will get used to the Niacin, but I will err on the side of caution and lower it to 50 mg next time, and increase the dose if its necessary. Niacin has quite a reputation for other health issues, such as heart and blood vessels, lowers LDL cholesterol, etc. I'm very satisfied with the quality of this Niacin, very fine powder. I used 1/16 which is a bit above 100mg, and next time I'll lower that to 1/32. You can get these tiny measuring spoons on Amazon...they come in a set of 1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4.

I love Niacin! I am one of those individuals that is very sensitive to Niacin. I started with the full recommended daily dose, which kick-started 2 of the most horrible hours of my life. It started with a warm tingling sensation in the ears, then moved to my face, throat, shoulders, arms, and then legs. That wasn't too bad, but I discovered that was only the first wave. The second wave was the bad part. I had a horrible itching sensation, like when you get a really bad sunburn. It was an itch from hell. PAINFUL. I ended up taking a COLD shower for over an hour, trying to numb the itch by slapping cold rags over my body again and again, like a Medieval monk whipping his body as penance. My entire family was laughing. My wife was researching online and read that if I drink a few glass of water it helps relieve the symptoms. I swigged down 16 ounces, and sure enough in about 3 minutes everything went away. So why a 5-star review? Because it isn't Bulksupplements fault that I respond strongly to Niacin. I've learned that with only 1/16 of a teaspoon I still get a very light "flush" (tingling sensation in my ears and face, a little in my arms), but avoid the 2-hour painful ordeal. I am hoping to slowly build up to a strong daily dose. I won't get my blood work done for another 6 months, but I am excited about the possibility of lowering my LDL.

This is a white powder that dissolves well, looks and tastes like ascorbic acid, and gives a quick tingly flush. The itch of the flush is a bit more intense than i got from the caplets I took previously. I attribute that to the fact that this powder is pure niacin and nothing else. Taking after or in the middle of a meal reduces flush discomfort. It seems to me that the calm, or decrease in anxiety, is a little less potent than the caplets, somehow. I had a gripe about the ineffectiveness of the ziplock and then I got some products from powdercity and found myself complaining about how difficult opening the zips was, so I guess I'm Goldie Locks with regard to ziplocks. Package well-wrapped and intact, no leakage, etc. Wonderful surprise: after this niacin purchase they offered a free product in exchange for a review of the free product! Isn't that great? I chose curcumin and am awaiting its arrival. Thank you thank you. I love free stuff!

I will have niacin to last for a good long while. These stuff is of excellent quality. It absorbs very well. Yes, there is a flush and it warms up the skin. Great for the joints and good for hair growth. The dosage is perfect however I tend to split up the dose and take a little through out the day. This Niacin works like a charm. I think it tastes good…slightly tart. I definitely recommend this Niacin.

I use this to supplement niacin for my ducklings as a preventative measure. I mix a small amount into their water, and they drink it without any issues. It’s water soluble, so there’s no risk of overdosing, which takes the stress out of dosing. I don’t wait for signs of deficiency—I give it to them right away. But in the past, when I’ve had ducklings showing signs of niacin deficiency, I’ve seen noticeable improvement within about two days of using this powder. That’s why I don’t skip it anymore. It’s inexpensive, easy to use, and crucial for healthy development. If you raise ducks, especially fast-growing breeds, this is something you want on hand from day one.

I can’t find my original review of 5 star in 2013-2014. Niacin helped me tremendously in lowering my cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides. It also helped lower my ALT (liver enzymes). After about two years, I started having palpitations and skipped beats. I stopped taking niacin. Unfortunately, I started to develop issues with my heart (PVC, PAC, proximal tachycardia, atrial fluttering, Afib)-all related to heart’s electrical system). These are all caused by niacin. I finally have them under control but sometimes I wish I had blockage instead. This doesn’t mean that you will have similar issues but I suggest you STOP using niacin at a first sign of heart palpitation or a skipped beat. Anything you feel in your heart will be a reason to stop. You certainly don’t want to trade atherosclerosis with Arrhythmias. Atherosclerosis may kill you once but Arrhythmias will kill you everyday over and over-just ask anyone with aFib or ventricular tachycardia.

It is what I ordered

I have been ordering Bulk Supplement Niacin powder close to 3 years. This recent pack seems different from the past packages I received. The powder is coarse and undissolvable. The taste is faint tart. I am just confused if I should return. Is this normal or a change in manufacturing?

I'm very happy with the supplements. Unlike pills and tablets I can take a smaller amount and mix it in with my food.

Much better than pills or tablets, this will let me years.
