sticky stuff...
The goo on the strip is really sticky and it catches flying insects like a boss. I've never used this type of strip before so I have no reference point to judge by but these strips are pretty difficult to pull from the canister and the sticky has a propensity to get on your fingers and hands pretty bad. Maybe the use of rubber gloves is in order.

Works well
Every now and again I get an explosion of fruit flies (I eat a LOT of fruit and fresh veggies). This stuff works pretty well at capturing the little buggers, even though I think it's technically made for house flies.

Very effective but hard to deploy
The fly paper is catching almost all of the bugs we have. I appreciate that the resin on the surface is non-toxic. A difficulty though is that the ribbon is stored spiralled up and ends up rewinding itself into a spiral once deployed, lowering its effective surface area. Perhaps there's a product out there that rolls open instead of spiralling open?

Kind of flimsy
I've used fly strips like this in the past with success. These don't hold together very well. When pulling the top to pull the strip out, some lids have come off, and one of the strips actually came apart (not really torn, just sort of fell apart) in the middle. There's half a strip hanging there, I threw out the bottom halfwith the cylinder.I will confirm, they are VERY sticky - and some of the sticky stuff is kind of outside the tops of some cylinders. Hanging them has turned out to be a *much* messier job than any other brand I've used previously. I am absolutely not looking forward to taking them down after they've done their job. That said... flies can't get off 'em. So, if you can get the strip out of the cylinder in tact and once you get past the mess of hanging, they do their job.

Item is poor quality, does not catch fruit flies
I bought these since I have seen roughly 1-2 fruit flies a day in my bedroom and bathroom area. The product came in a bag that's semi-sealed, which I initially thought it was weird since I would imagine the sticky tape would dry up or build up moisture. After taking one out and opening it per the Amazon product description, the cylinder and cap separated leaving me just holding the string with a closed roll of tape. After manually unpeeling the roll, the string also became sticky and I had to hang it somewhere where it wouldn't stick to the walls.I don't know what kind of chemical they use for the tape, but the stickiness did not come off completely from my hands with regular soap and rubbing alcohol. The product itself is also not designed to keep the adhesive on only the tape, since some of the cylinders appear leaking/smearing and the tack that comes with each roll is always smeared with adhesive. Hopefully the product is "non-toxic" as the product page implies. At the time of writing this review, I've left 1 roll in my bedroom and bathroom for 2 straight days and none of the fruit flies stuck to the rolls. I have seen at least 7 fruit flies during this time. The product is of poor quality due to the individual components separating, poor packaging, and how it is ineffective at catching fruit flies.
