Great Iron Supplement for Pregnancy and Factor 5
This is a great iron supplement for pregnancy! I’ve been taking it for 2 weeks now and love it - I would highly recommend! I found out at 13 weeks pregnant that I have a condition called Factor 5, which affects blood and clotting during pregnancy - I also discovered that because of this I was very anemic and it had been causing all sorts of awful symptoms and side effects. I have a sensitive stomach and have been known to face constipation during pregnancy and outside of it from time to time. It was important to me to find an iron supplement that would be gentle on my stomach as well as non-constipating. I found this one and decided to give it a try. It has not caused any constipation for me at all. The first 4-5 days on it were a bit of a transition as my body acclimated to the iron, so I felt a bit heavy on my stomach after taking it and my body adjusted, but even then, it did not cause constipation and it did not make me terribly nauseous. After the first few days, I haven’t had any side effects or symptoms other than feeling great! Liquid iron always seems to have a metallic-y aftertaste but I’ve found this one to not be quite as pungent or hard to manage - and on the days it is, I just pop in a piece of gum right after and the taste is gone immediately. I highly recommend this iron if you’re pregnant and need a good boost!

Worth the money because IT WORKS
I need to keep my iron level higher than "not strictly anemic" to help with restless legs syndrome, which is miserable to experience. The iron pills I was using were hard to swallow and caused constipation, so I didn't always take them. At the recommendation of my sleep doctor, my nutritionist, my general practitioner, AND my hematologist, I tried this liquid iron to see if it would absorb better. It tastes good and is easy to swallow. I've had no constipation from it. I take 1 tablespoon every other day along with 1000 units of vitamin C. It really works! My hematologist tests my iron levels every six months and "tops off" my iron with an infusion if my iron falls below the level that helps with restless legs. I have not needed an iron infusion for my last two visits. This product isn't cheap, but in my opinion it is a good value.

EASIEST TO DIGEST
This is the product i used in both my pregnancies for iron intact and i have a very hard time ingesting pills. The liquid isn't the tastiest but that is to be expected given that it is iron but truthfully its probably the best i've found and the most important is that it brings you the vitamin and mineral intake that is required and needed will pre and post natal.

DON'T TAKE IRON WITH CALCIUM
Really good flavor. The one IMPORTANT thing to mention here (because it's not listed in the bottle) is that you SHOULD NOT take iron supplements with dairy because calcium affects the absorption of the iron. I learned that after I finished the bottle and my iron levels in pregnancy were still low. How to Optimize Intake: Space them out: Separate calcium supplements or dairy foods from iron-rich meals or iron pills by at least two hours. Add Vitamin C: Take iron with vitamin C (like orange juice) to help your body absorb it better.

good but taste isn’t the greatest
taking this due to having extremely low iron during my pregnancy & it has helped me feel better. definitely more energy and not as dizzy/lightheaded! I will add that if you have a weak stomach or heavy nausea the after taste makes me gag heavily.. it coats your mouth. I have to chug something flavored and swish it around to avoid throwing up.. but on the plus side it does not bloat/constipate or make me cramp

Great!
I tripled my iron/ferritin levels. The way I thought I was going nuts because I felt such an immediate (next day) difference. But, this really helps when you're deficient like I am. (I started at ferritin level fo 9) My goal is around 80 so, just need some time and I think some added vitamin C to help absorbtion. Great product Edit: While I do like this product and continue to reorder it CAN cause constipation. It's tolerable and if you add a bit of magnesium to your routine that helps. But this being a 'zero constipation product' is not accurate for me. I have started eating an orange with my iron and I feel like that's helping with absorption. It's sad bc my solid every other day compliance has gone down significantly bc I'm afraid of being constipated. Pro: my hair started growing back after low iron thinning on the side. SO many baby hairs. My energy is way up. Anxiety is way down. Oddly, my PMS is not near as violent either. (Weird I know) I think it's because my baseline has risen!! I'm just not as tired as I was before so when PMS-tiredness hits it doesn't wipe me out.

Dirty Penny Flavored & Vegan formula does not absorb
Unfortunately, this formula did absolutely nothing for me. I took it consistently for two months (read: forced the dirty penny/blood flavored liquid down) hoping to get my ferritin levels up in time for labor, delivery, and postpartum but according to my latest labs it did absolutely nothing. Stick to the animal based iron supplements if ya can, Mommas!!!

Helpful for Iron Levels, but the Taste Was Tough to Handle
*Helpful for Iron Levels, but the Taste Was Tough to Handle** I had heard great things about MaryRuth’s products and was drawn to this liquid iron because of the clean ingredients and reputation for high-quality supplements—especially during pregnancy. At the time, I was struggling with low iron levels and wanted something effective and gentle. While I did notice some improvement in my iron levels even with minimal use (just once or twice a week), the taste was extremely difficult for me to tolerate. The flavor and aftertaste were so unpleasant that I found it very hard to take consistently. As someone who experienced nausea during pregnancy, this product was especially tough to stomach. I honestly would have preferred an iron pill over this liquid form. If you're sensitive to taste or prone to nausea, I’d suggest exploring other options. It may work well for others, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

Sabor espantoso
Es una maravilla pero el after taste es espantoso, sabe como a sangre y pescado. Si eres sensible a eso busca otra opcion. 😭😭
