Started breaking down at 4 years, still using it after 5 years
After about 4 years of 8+ hour a day use, it started to develop some cracking, at the 5 year mark the cracks are in a 10"x20" spot and I've lost a few pieces that are probably 1"x2". Going to replace it soon with the same item, I feel like 5 year lifespan is pretty good for the cost.

Surprisingly good.
So I already had an office chair mat that technically did the job, but I really didn't like how it indented when you stopped moving, which would make it hard to reposition myself due to my chair being sunk into the mat. So when this mat went on sale, I thought I would just try it out and see if it was an improvement over my current one. The mat came packaged in a box and rolled up. Just like the other reviews say, the unboxing process does need some care due to the mat having a lot of tension when you remove the packaging. I did notice that the edges were pretty raw and looks like they were just cut from a roll, but definitely not so sharp that I needed to be careful. My older mat definitely had a nicer machined edge than this one. When I placed this one down next to my original mat, I was immediately skeptical because touching it, I could already tell that this new one was slightly thinner and more flexible in my hand. Regardless, I still switched it out for a proper test drive. I pulled my chair back on it, sat down, waited a moment, and then repositioned myself... and I rolled perfectly smooth without any indentation resistance! I was pleasantly surprised to see that even though this material is technically thinner, I think it has more rigidness to resist chair wheels sinking in. Visually, the mat has a "crystallized" texture that makes it shimmer, but still maintains a clear transparency without being foggy or frosted. The back side has knobs that hold the mat against carpet. I did see reviews that complained about cracking so I will keep an eye out for durability and update this review if I have any issues. So far, I am extremely happy because I've tried a couple mats and this was undoubtedly the best option considering price, quality, and performance. So far, so good!

Cracked, but warranty replaced quickly
Well cracked underneath a chair wheel after only 3 months use. On carpet. No furniture on it. Manufacturer did replace it quickly under warranty though. So a good company to work with. Hoping for the best now.

Pricey but worth it
I was looking everywhere for a large size mat and came across this one. Have had it for 6mo now and no cracks and has been as advertised. I am a big guy and roll around this thing for hours everyday and held up just fine. Much smoother rolling around on casters as well, compared to my old box store version. It is pricey, but so far has been worth it.

Good for light use, but not for serious every day use
Bought one of these back in Jan 2025. It is now Dec 2025 (just short of 1 year) and through this year of use, the mat has cracked around 20-30 times. Lots of breaks, pieces are sticking up from it, ect. Picture doesn't do it justice, but you can see quite a few of the cracks and breaks. I have a nice executive office chair, weighs around 50 lbs or so, and i weigh 250lbs, so around 300 lbs for me and the chair combined. The mat was a nice size, covering the carpet between the two desks. The mat constantly slides around on the carpet (carpet is standard length and standard plush, not thin and not thick like a shag carpet). even putting 20 and 30 lb dumbbells on the mat to try and hold it in place isn't enough and it still pivots and slides around. might have held up better for standard 10lb office chairs and a skinny 100 lb person, but definitely not designed for every day use, all day in my office. Company boasts durability, but severely disappointed with this mat's durability.

So much nicer than the one at the Big Box Stores
Just installed this mat last night in my office. Is it so much nicer than what I had! There's simply no comparison. I had to replace the one I had because I rearranged my office and needed more room for my chair to move on the carpet. What a stroke of luck! Because it's so much sturdier and thicker than the one I had, this mat immediately straightened out when I took the plastic off it. So I was able to install it the day it arrived. My old one took several days to unroll because it kept wanting to curl up as sold. Very happy with my purchase! One helpful note about unpacking these mats: Do NOT ignore the warnings about how to unroll the plastic wrapping. Make sure you unwrap the plastic around the mat with the mat lying horizontally ON THE GROUND & not standing up vertically. When the plastic wrapping is loosened, these mats will suddenly spring into shape and you can't be in their way!

Excellent office desk carpet
Fits perfectly for home office. Easy to clean and don't slide on the carpet.

Ridiculously thin, barely finished for the high price, and is probably going to crack.
My husband had a thicker bamboo mat that, after 2 years, is starting to disintegrate and leave wood slivers all over his office carpeting. We bought this so he could roll his X chair easily across his 5x5 open office space around his desk. Yes, you have to be careful opening the thing- but that's written all over the box. What irks me is that for $165 dollars, you get a thin, untreated piece of plastic that is in NO way suitable for high pile carpeting (it says ALL PILE in the description- HA). The edges are not rounded- the entire outside edge of this thing is rough and untreated, and the corners are sharp. I'm concerned about hubby or our kitty catching a toe on one of these corners. For $165, you can't buff or round the outside edge of the product? Are you kidding me? 3 stars because the product is obvious crap out of the box. I'll wait to update in a few months when this thing will inevitably start cracking. My husband is 5'3" and 150 lbs, and his X chair weighs somewhere around 40 lbs, so if this is indeed what happens, then the product is truly pathetic, and I'll downgrade even more. We wanted something that was thick enough that the chair wouldn't leave dents in the mat that my husband had to roll out of when he finished a 30-minute meeting. I don't expect this product to get that job done. I've had it with Amazon. The huge number of suspicious 5-star reviews, impostor supplements that people say do nothing for them when the bottle they bought at the Vitamin Shoppe did so much more, fake salon products, cheap stuff made in China when the description says "made in the USA," etc. We in the US need to go back to mom and pop shops that stocked quality stuff, are invested members of our own communities, and deserve to make a living. Hubby and I would've been better off going to a local office supply shop where we could see and touch what we were going to buy. We're not even old snotty Boomers. We're in our 40s, can pay for quality stuff, and clearly did not get it here. Do yourself a favor- don't buy this. Go to a local office supply shop, suck it up, pay the $250 to get something really nice (maybe try glass or something WAY thicker than this) so that you'll never have to replace it. Trust me.
