KA-BARBk-11Hndl Becker Custom Micarta Handle Set

I wanted to give this 3 stars as I think the price is way too high, but I am the one that added it to my cart. With shipping I think I paid more for these handles than the knife! I guess that is my own fault though. That is how supply and demand works....If you take the price out of the picture I couldn't be happier with the product. They are everything I expected. Nothing less. Nothing more. The quality and fitment is great, and I love the look as feel the handles provide. It really takes the Ka-bar to the next level. It looks and feel like a more expensive knife now. The stock scales leave a lot to be desired, so I wonder why Ka-bar doesn't have handles like this from the factory. I would have paid the difference in price and not have questioned it. Nevertheless, if you don't care about the price you will not be disappointed with the product. I love it and even though I struggle with the price I am glad I bought them and I will probably order them again without hesitation.

This was such an improvement over 550 cord as a 'handle'. So much more comfortable in the hand, not nearly as bulky and fits perfectly.I'm still going to keep that length of 550 cord, but I think it'll get wrapped around the sheath with a bit of tape, because this micarta is head and shoulders above it for handle material.I used a small brass hammer and a punch to seat the nuts to depth since just pushing them wasn't seating them fully, but they could have been seated just as easily using the screw tension.Easy to install, looks great, and feels outstanding.

The reason I am giving four stars, instead if five is because of the screws. The are way too long, so I need to shorten them, otherwise when you grip the knife, the end of the screws come out of the handle surface and it is annoying.

I actually had some wooden ones on my BK11, but they blocked the holes on the end of it and it annoyed me to no end. I've read nothing but good about micarta scales (having never handled any before), and decided to take the plunge. After putting them on my knife I've found they're pretty nice. They're slightly thinner than the wooden ones I had, but they still grip well.

I was very nervous about ordering due to apparent inconsistent fit and QC issues. However, the set that I received was perfect fit and finish. Once installed, it feels like a whole new knife. Much more comfortable and makes the blade much easier to use. I will say that I purchased my bk11 in 2011. I don't know if the newer models have different dimensions that may be causing issues for some. Minus one star for price. These cost about the same as the blade itself.***Update*** Changed rating to three stars. Upon further inspection, I did notice some play between the scales and tang. Not enough to see a gap between the tang and scales, but enough to give me an OCD fit. Some have recommended sanding scales down to allow a tighter fit. I however was able to apply some gorilla glue to the inside of the scales and screw them back on. Some may not like this solution because it makes them a permanent fixture to the blade, but I personally don't mind because they do make the blade more comfortable to use and more aesthetically pleasing.
