Expected/decent quality for the money.
Got this because we wanted to get rid of the nightstands. Shopped around the major furniture stores and could not find anything comparable in the price range (Ashley had one made of MDF, but only 7" deep...not helpful). Went with this product because it was the closest thing to solid wood. I made sure to read the warnings in the other reviews to avoid problems. A few things to add that I thought relevant. Remember that I am pretty satisfied with quality given the price point. For context, I've put together a lot of Ikea-type furniture in the past and am fair/moderate level DIYer.1.) The metal settings for the rods are not always flat in their holes so rods stick out at a slight angle, did not really affect difficulty of assembly or solidity of final product. Also, the threads are pretty cheap and I was afraid I was going to strip a few of them. I put almost all in by hand, a few with bad threads got stuck about halfway in- gentle pressure with screwdriver got them past the sticking point and able to finish screwing in by hand.2.) Holes for the round cams were not always perfectly round and sometimes bottom of hole was angled so cam was not flat. One hole it actually protruded after tightening (probably because of angled pin). I tightened the cams cautiously and the final piece seems pretty solid.3.) I had a rubber mallet ready and prepared to use with caution to avoid splitting the wood. However, did not do any hammering at all except moderate taps with my hand to get things together (I'm 5'10", ~200lbs so not sure if smaller folks might appreciate a mallet).4.) It was possible for me to put together by myself by being cautious/not in a hurry, assembled on a rug to protect from scratches. I also assembled it in the room where it was installed. The final piece is not heavy but is bulky to move and long enough that a second person would be desired to avoid damage while moving it.5.) One side of the backing board was discolored in several areas, fortunately the other side was pristine. Both sides have same design so I just made sure the discolored side was to the wall. Also, 3 of the the small holes in the bottom of the backing board for screwing into back of bottom shelf did not line up with holes in the shelf. I simply drilled (cautiously) some new holes.6.) I have an articulating bed frame, and it has nowhere to mount to the headboard. Irrelevant, as the headboard is deep enough to stand on its own stably. Will anchor to drywall if needed. I have baseboards with quarter round that stick out 3/4" from my wall. Since my bed is on risers, I added blocks under the headboard to raise it to appropriate level. This just happened to be higher than the baseboards so I was able to put flush against wall.8.) There are no grommets for cords into the unit. If I stay happy with it, I will probably drill holes and install electric outlet grommets or a power strip. I want ability to charge phone/put reading light, etc.9.) The box it came in was a little banged up, there was a tiny dent in the wood, fortunately spot that would not be visible once assembled. The plastic straps around the box (probably used as handles by the package carriers) cut through the layer of cardboard and the Styrofoam packing and exposed the wood in that spot. This piece would be better protected with 2nd layer of cardboard so the straps don't cut through. End caps inside with foam/extra cardboard worked very well.Looking forward to this lasting years. Will try to remember and update if anything changes. 5 stars because of the value/price point.

Packaging was excellent and all parts required were included
Packaging was excellent and all parts required were included. The finished assembled product is attractive. Anyone who has not assembled furniture or similar products requiring assembly will be frustrated since the instructions are inadequate. It would have helped if the instructions stated that you would be assembling the product upside down. Having assembled many similar products it took me some time to understand the procedure. One small part did break because I tightened it just a tad too tight. The instructions do warn you not to overtighten...but how tight is tight? The product is made from bamboo using accepted procedures for this material. Bamboo is an excellent material replacing traditional wood and is very strong. All in all I am pleased with the finished product despite poor instructions.

Beautiful
I am going to compare this product to the typicalPut-it-together furniture. Pluses: the bamboo wood is beautiful. It is much thinner than the typical MDF boards and much heavier so that should give you an idea of the density. I did not have any issues putting it together. One thing that may have helped was I knew from experience not to tighten things down until they were all aligned. I was able to put the whole thing together by myself. It is really, really heavy so you may want some help. I used this with a California King bed. I was able to put one bolt in on each side to sector it to the frame so it is fairly steady. The headboard is too short for current bed springs/mattress sets. This is pretty typical of most beds I had looked at. We just removed the box springs since our frame didn’t need one. This way I still have all my storage beneath the bed and did not have to raise the headboard. I was really happy with how it turned out. The instructions had been hand-edited so I am sure they were better. I would be happy to rewrite the instructions to improve them if the company contacted me. This was a great product. I was happy with the price and quality.

Disappointed in this product
We ordered two of these headboards, which arrived timely. The joy ended there. The boards were warped; it was extremely difficult to assemble; there are large gaps in between the middle support sections due to improper fitting; and the mattress came above the second shelf. Even with assembly done by two engineers and a helper, it still was so bad we gave it away. Returning it was not an option such we had thrown away the box. The second headboard was returned....which was a problem since it was heavy, had to be hauled downstairs, loaded into the SUV, driven to a pickup site, unloaded, and taken inside. But returning one was better than wasting money on two of them. This is very atypical for any product ever purchased from Amazon. I should have read previous reviews since the information about the poor quality was available. I do not recommend that anyone buy this headboard.
